I have a scrim idea in mind for DoD, and I think it'll work, but I need to know whether or not people will be interested, so tell me what you think, and for those of you who have been on the DoD side since April, this may sound familiar:

This is based highly on Victory in Europe, a very successful DoD-only event. Basically, there will be two theatres, one for Italy and one for France. Each with the U.S. Army and Wehrmacht fighting for complete ownership of each theatre. Players will be assigned to one army on one theatre. Signing up is endless, but as for joining the server would be first come-first server depending on who gets in first or by a signup sheet for the event.

Each theatre will consist of 9 or 11 maps in which both military forces will own an equal amount of sectors (maps). One map will be neutral, and this is where the scrim program starts. Each game will be one hour long, with the team with the most points winning the sector. There are no ties, so those with the highest bonus points in a tie will be the winner. The winner gets to choose which map to play next, but must be a map their enemy possesses.

One map for each military force is their headquarters, and must be the last map attacked, meaning the enemy must capture all other maps before they can go for this last one. The team who captures all the maps in the theatre is the winner and will faceoff in one final match against the other theatre winners. If both teams who win are the same army, the team who won the theatre the fastest get to pick which team they play for.

If you think this would be a cool idea, just post. There' more information, but is not necessary, because I'm just giving you a small amount of what it is about. :)

I like the idea. As you mentioned during the meeting, having after-action videos or reports would be cool too. Maybe someone could make a map based on real locations of maps - those known that is (IE: Caen, Anzio, Palermo, etc) and have it updated based on ownership and whatnot.

I'd go for that. It sounds like a lot of fun. Just show me where to sign up!

Sounds like lots of fun . Only thing is that I can not understand all the concept of it. I'm not that smart to grasp it all... :(

Already setup. Detailed to the T (or at least as accurate as I can make it :p)

And yes, I understand it is slightly complex right now, but I'm only giving about 50-60% of the entire plot. Couldn't really give it all up it it wasn't going to be used. :D

I agree it's somewhat confusing, but from what I got it sounds awesome.

I am definitely up for it :D

Sounds like a great idea, the battle back and forth could go on for a long time too. Do you have a system for who gets to choose the next map? Maybe have team Lieutenants that get to choose where to go if their team wins? Or would it just be majority rule.

The teams will have assigned captains, whether they are House Leaders or eGO-rank players.
