How does CS suck? Or does it suck because you don't like it.
CS is fun and has mulitple gameplay types, a large user base and a large custom map base.
DODS is a great WWII online game. Very well thought out maps and relatively balanced gameplay.

But How about doom2? Me and my nephew dusted it off the other day and played some 1vs1 deathmatch is was awesome! we could play over that hymatchichachi network thing we have!

Actually, it does.
On-topic though. I'd advise getting DoD over CS. I own both, and the thrill of DoD lasts a lot longer.

The only thing about insurgency is that it has a very steep learning curve. He said he only had experience in TF2, which is hugely unrealistic and you just go charging towards the enemy team. That simply doesn't work in Insurgency.
That said, once you get the hang of it, how the game flows, how you move and shoot, it's really a superb mod, and I'd highly recommend it; just don't get frustrated and move on too quickly.
I'd pick CSS, simply because, as both a tf2 player and a css player; they are both very engaging games. A word of warning; they are VERY different in combat styles-headshots kill all the time, snipers are always better then you, and the little orange thing that people throw will make you want to throw up
Oh yea, I know Insurgency is quite hard, and it did take me a few hours to figure out different stuff...Like how to pick up weapons... But I like it for the fact that it's completely different than TF2 and also is quite challenging, especially in our FF on server. So Insurgency is the way to go if you want to try something completely different than TF2

umm cod4 or 5 i think cod4 is better but they are both pretty good
fallout 3 is really long and fun

i know its not a shooter but if you havnt played world of goo you should try that its pretty fun i think they have a demo for it on steam
