Hay guys! I am in the Cs:s division but i am looking to test the waters in TF2 or DOD (not sure yet) and i have a few questions.

1. How is the general pub community? In Cs:s the pub community is pretty "pawntastic" for the most part, is it the same for this game?

2. How is the activity at about 11:00pm PST because that is when i play the most.

3. In Cs:s its start's to get boring after awhile (no real variety in game play besides different weapon's) dose this game keep you pretty engaged?

4. Do i have to reapply or submit some kind of forum to join this division as well?

Thanks for all your help guys! If i can convince myself i will probably buy it tomorrow and hopefully be up with you guys!

1. The general community for TF2 is great... most of the players are here to have fn and are fun to play with.

2. That time of night is OKAY on te servers... it starts to thin, but some nights it goes on until 2am pst easily.

3. TF2 keeps me lenty entertained.... no other game has had the longevity that this one has for my interest.

4. No app needed... with MAUL, just check to make sure you are verified and come on in to spend some time and play a few games with us!

1. How is the general pub community? In Cs:s the pub community is pretty "pawntastic" for the most part, is it the same for this game? I am not sure what pawntastic means but the eGo TF2 community is great. Yea there are bad seeds among the pubs but on a whole the eGo member and pub community is great. Most of the time team work is happening and admins are usually on to control any issues.

2. How is the activity at about 11:00pm PST because that is when i play the most. I usually play until 11 pm EST so I can't really say. I am sure on the weekends players are on at all times of night.

3. In Cs:s its start's to get boring after awhile (no real variety in game play besides different weapon's) dose this game keep you pretty engaged? You have all the classes of TF2 plus the achievements for a few are out. Each class has basic, intermediate and expert strategies to learn. You probably will find yourself playing all of them for extended periods of time. I have been playing this game since launch day, left it for a while because of a DODS infatuation and now am back to it full time.

4. Do i have to reapply or submit some kind of forum to join this division as well? Make sure you are MAUL verified.

Some notes, starting in TF2 and wandering into CSS...

1) The TF2 servers are a bit more "strict" about rules. Not to say that other divisions are lax, but the TF2 community is pretty tight about cussing, griping, griefing, etc. I think it's because the TF2 players are less entrenched in their ways than CSS players. My take.

2) TF2 the game is full of variety. I played Engie until I was really good and then switched to Medic. It's like a whole different game as Medic. Same for Soldier and Heavy. Each class takes it's own cycle to get "good," making the game last that much longer.

3) The eGO TF2 servers are so well known I've gone into an empty server and had it fill around me at 2AM Central. If the choice is between a regular TF2 server with lots of people, and an eGO server with two or three, I'm surprised how many pubs pick eGO :D Or... maybe I'm not surprised...

4) Because of the decent churn in users on TF2, and because the gameplay of TF2 really requires teamwork (you can win on CSS by being super pwntastic all by yourself with a team of redshirts), that strategies that worked great one hour ago need to be modified as the players churn between teams and servers. So the battlefield is constantly changing...

5) As an extension, the type of people who join TF2 servers are already team-minded... they come in expecting to fit into a group. So they're less likely to cause trouble or get out of line. I've seen situations that lead to bans in CSS that wouldn't get past the "it's the rules" stage in TF2, just because TF2 gets you in the mood to play along :D

6) TF2 is just fun. In CSS, every character class and weapon is pretty much the same: point and click. Some weapons have zoom, some are grenades, but really, it's point and click. And other than vanity, there's no reason to pick on character class over another. TF2 lets you pick PLAYSTYLE through the character class selection. Do you want to waddle in and toss death at everyone you see tonight? Heavy. Do you really just need to see people explode into humorous itty bitty bits? Soldier or Demo. Do you want to case people around as they run in terror? Pyro. Want to sneak around and trick people into dying for you? Spy. Interested in helping the team more than being the hero yourself? Engie or Medic. Want to pick people off from miles away? Sniper. And when you get tired of lighting heavies on fire, new excitement is just a classswitch away. (I made that a compound word just because I wanted to see 3 s's in a row.)

Insurgency is fun, but I burn out in an hour or so. CSS is fun, but I burn out in an hour or so. I've lost WEEKENDS to TF2 :D

Wow DMC That was Very convincing! Thanks a lot to all of you guys i am 99% sure i am going to buy it tonight so i hope i get a chance to play with all of you! It sounds like it is a lot more chill of a community and i am looking forward to it! I was just getting frustrated playing Cs:s late at night because all the jerks are out and alot of the time no admin that late if any eGO members at all. I love to work as a team so i think this game might be just the thing to peak my interest. once again THANKS!

yer i got a bit bored of css so i keep switching between tf2 and css which makes you very hard to find.
