Nature's conception - the gates of hell Image collection

I've always been interested about the "Door to Hell" in Uzbekistan...or is it Turkmenistan I can never remember. For reference its the one that looks like a pit of fire.

Basic story if memory serves me right is that a geological team while looking for oil found a cavern of toxic gas. Believing that there might be oil under it the set the gas ablaze hoping to burn the stuff off to make it safe for further research...that was about 30 years ago and its been burning ever since.
 
Woww...some impressive pictures there. I think my heart would stop if I saw any of those in real life.
 
all of those storms were super cell thunderstorms with strong downdraft winds capable producing long and powerful tornados.
