Female gamers...Dangerous or not?!

We were having a chat in the L4D channel of Vent and it came around to Satan's wife cleaning my clock as pyro the other night and I started to realize how crazy talented women are when they game. It got me thinking that I really need to get my wife to play more. Then I came to my senses, because guys are always complaining that we need more female gamers, but if we do indeed get more, us men are going to end up trashed constantly. I think it comes down to their innate ability to put dedication into whatever they do.

Your thoughts or tales of ownership on the playing field by the "other half" as it were? ;)
 
Yeah. Girls are good at a lot of games, and thats not surprising at all.

In halo 3, there is an entire 2 teams playing for MLG that are based around girls only, and they are highly successful. The top gaming clan, deadly alliance, has a branch for only girl gamers. I've learned in my competitive gaming that no player should be underestimated, especially not girls.

Counter strike has multiple teams with girls only that do very well, too.

So yes, girl gamers should not be taken lightly.
 
Ever play Daria on de_dust2? :p

I have yet to personally meet a girl that plays SC that I can't beat, though. I'm sure if I went to Korea, that'd be a different story...
 
Surprisingly, playing a game like Guild Wars or CSS you find lots of female gamers, they are pretty damn good too.
 
Girls, women, females in general are better than us at well...ALOT of things. Ive met countless female gamers that own just as hard, if not harder than guys.

My girlfriend for example, beasts me on a regular basis on console games.
(At least ive still got her when it comes to computer games.)

So watch out guys, because they can be sweet and pretty one moment, then dominate you the next.
 
I don't think it's any different with girls than it is guys. Girls can be good at video games, guys can be good at video games. There are members of both sex that would probably just be better off sticking to playing Sims 2 though. I know plenty of girls who are gamers but they really aren't that good. I also know girls who can rip me up in certain games. They're are members of both sex that are talented at gaming, and it shouldn't be really that surprising actually. I think more of the fact that people are surprised is that gaming has/had been generally known as a 'guy thing', but that no longer stands true.

Just my opinion anyway.

I don't play many games, so I don't know many female gamers. The ones here are terrible. They beat me up all the time. :p
 
The only woman that I game with is DJSatansWife, and she wipes the floor with me every game.
 
I know a couple female games from both school and online. Playing with them is not much different then playing with the guys. Some you can beat, other will beat you, but female gamers aren't to different then hanging out with a girl in real life.

(except in real life they can hit you for saying something stupid, where online you are safer) :)

Yeah it may be just me, but I never seem to lose to female gamers, I always just kill them first, maybe im just good or something or maybe they dont want to hurt me :P
 
Well, honestly, what I think it comes down to is the female ability to work well with others.

I like Sims 1 + 2 and I will beat anyone on any fps games... Also its like Wrestling, girls only keep doing it if their good, so unless its their first time or they are forced to, they are probably good at it. Or you really suck :D

Don't get me wrong about the Sims 2 comment, I enjoy the games themselves (or at least the part with making the house), but they are a fairly simple, well rounded, family fun game, and aren't as...difficult per say as FPSs. It's a very pick up and play well instead of honing in your skills to play the game well.
