hey guys i just bought a sony nr series notebook with windows vista, but i can run dod, it lags really bad, anyone have an idea what can i do?

vista sucks thats your problem lol...
nothing really you can do besides get a different os like xp pro or something like that

wat are ur comp specs? and vista is better than xp u just have to have a comp that can handle its awesomeness :D

graphical, i cant even walk on a map, i tried to low down all visual options and still lags

Hmm Sony apparently doesn't make the NR series anymore. Any shot at getting the full model number. If I remember it should be printed on a sticker on the bottom of the notebook and ingrained into the monitor bezel.

Barring that, I need to run a program called dxdiag and tell me what the name of the device under the tab:Display 1 is. If you don't have the "run" option on your start menu, bring up the task manager and run it by clicking on "New Task" and typing in dxdiag.

it says vgn-nr430e and the graphics card its a Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family and as far as i know the drivers are up to date. besides i miss my old dinosaur!!!

its a dual core 1.86 ghz, 2gbs of ram, its supposed to run well
it could be the video what type do you have in it and try to put the settings on low make sher your video settings are not screwed up go though the check list until you find out whats wrong with it your system specs are fine just sounds like your video cant handle it..

ur graphics card
check if it reaches the requirment of the game
but i dont think u can change graphics for a notebook

"Well there's your problem!"

You ain't playin' games on that buddy, hate to tell ya. Older SM1.1 games and maybe some SM 2.0 games...but you are not going to get DoD:S to run well on that even at the lowest possible settings. The IGP in the P965 is equivalent to a striped down Nvidia 440MX.

owch that bad i use to own a Nvidia 440mx lol i had a hard time running age of empires on that stupid thing.

i've noticed that some games that do quite well on xp run really sloooooooooowly on vista (in my case Simpsons' Hit & Run)
also i've heard u can download directX 9 runtime files for use in vista to make some games run. obviously vista has dx10. some games (like scarface) won't run on dx10.
