Newegg has failed me...sorta

So, I've had Left 4 Dead pre ordered since September. I checked my order status and it says it's "On Hold" so I go to the customer service chat to ask them about it and they said they don't know when they will get it.

I pre ordered it for a price of $36.99 (It's now $44.99). I don't know if I should cancel my order so I can just go pick up a copy tomorrow or wait it out for the great price. I'm off until next Monday so I was looking forward to playing L4D this week. What would you do?

It seems like they should have it by the time of release, or posibly a bit earlier. Newegg is more than reliable and thats definetly a nice price for L4D

I can't believe they don't have it yet. Games have a ship date and a release date in which the release date is generally the day after the ship date right?

No. They don't even have it in their warehouse yet and they don't know when it will arrive.

Yeah, I prefer a hard copy. Plus I'm sure the download speed will be very slow over Steam. The demo was huge and I can't imagine downloading the whole game.

No. They don't even have it in their warehouse yet and they don't know when it will arrive.

There is a chance that it will ship directly from the makers to you. I know some vendors have set it up so that the manufacturers will ship on behalf of the vendors direct (skipping the middle man). Dunno if this is the case or not.

That would be nice Groo but I'm not holding out for that to happen. Here's the steps it lists on their site regarding pre orders.

1st] On Hold: Once we receive your pre-ordered or back-ordered item, we will process your order.

2nd] Processing: Your pre-ordered item is in-stock and is now being processed normally. Please check the "Order Status" tab for more details.

Yeah it might be easier to cancel this and just go out and buy it on tuesday. Who knows when youll get it if they havent even processed it yet.

I ordered mine from Amazon for the same reason, The Shape. They list their ship date as Nov 24th, but maybe I'll get lucky. Regardless, there's always TF2 to keep my attention until I get L4D

QFT. Thanks Ninja! Also, as the game was done by valve, it should automatically hook itself onto your steam account, and away you go. I look forward to playing everyone at the real thing.
