This is just a random thought I had the other day.
I was sitting in the living room playing an old Mario Brothers game and while in the process of insanely waiving the controller around to outwardly express my desire for Mario to jump over an oncoming Gomba I suddenly realized that though waiving said control does make me feel better, it does nothing to actually help Mario jump.
Growing up, Auto and I played tons of Nintendo games. And though admittedly I would wave the controller every so often when stressing about making it over a lava pit or escaping a Lakitu with his evil spiky balls of doom, Auto was what I will dub an Obsessive Compulsive Controller Shaker. (I feel free saying this because he has plenty of stories about me. His favorite was something about being in World 8 when a certain little sister (namely, me) cried to mom that he wouldn't let me play... *cringe*). I think though, every gamer is a bit of an OCCS.
And then comes the Wii (and another console or so) and now... If I waive the controller... OMG! It totally does stuff! And it came to me, maybe while growing up, being an OCCS actually prepared us for playing with motion controllers! We're already so used to moving the controller. Practice practice practice!
So I was just wondering how many of you used to be, or still are, an OCCS? Don't be ashamed to admit it now!

). All this happens subconsciously to me, but I guess it's funny to watch as I occasionally let my non-gaming friends observe me game (the gaming ones don't care, let alone pay attention
).
