video resolution problem

so ive. been getting a little lag latly so i dicided to drop my video settings to get better fps.. i forgot to look at what my comp can do and set it too low.. now its just says cannot display this video format.. anybody ever screw up like this? lol .. Suggestions?

Are you talking about the game or your PC? In other words, did you change the settings within the game (which one) or are you talking about the general settings for your video adapter on your PC?

i changed the resolution setting on insurgency and now i cant play it or change the setting back cause i cant get to the game to change it.... so i need i way to change it in the config or a way to set it back to default without accually starting the game

I don't know which file you need to use to set the video configuration. But you can launch Insurgency (I think) with specific video options forced ( you can do this for HL and TF2 which use the same engine). So, this a good shot.

Read the following link:

Choose the options appropriate for your computer and put them into the startup options for Insurgency. Once you can open Insurgency, go into video options and set them to what you really want to be.

If that doesn't work, you can always try the Insurgency tech forum:

Or...you just might need to delete Insurgency and reinstall.

ok ill try that... it should work... cause all the games pretty much work the same way.. right? ill post back weather it worked or not

thanks that worked perfectly heres a little list of the comands for anyone else that might run in to the same problem with their in-game resolution settings

1. Open Steam
2. Go to the "My Games" tab
3. Right-click the game which needs to be reconfigured
4. Select "Properties" from the menu
5. Click the "Set launch options..." button
