Why did you choose your in game name?

I was just wondering, who/what inspired you to come up with your ign?

As for me:
I played Halo (the first and original one for PC when it first came out) about a few years ago and I needed my own ign. I chose spartan117 but it was way too common, so I decided to look elsewhere. I was reading the Halo novels at the time and noticed the word "MJOLNIR". It was pretty appealing to me, but I had no idea what it meant. In the novel, it was the name of the spartan soldiers' armor. I did a search on the internet and found out that it was the name of Thor's Hammer. I guess I just stuck with it ever since.

So, what's your story? :]
 
I did the Napolion dynamite dance for a grad-play....ever since then i have been useing this name!
 
There was a clan name in another game called Insurgo Superbia and I got my name from them :)
 
My sister and I have a running joke with the word sassafrass So SirSassafrass wasn't a far stretch =P
 
I...had problems getting people to use my teleporter.

Thus, this was born. lol

It was way back when we had a 24/7 Turbine server. I'd always find a way to plant a teleporter, and sometimes even a minibase in the other team's ventilation.

With a teleporter to their intel room, I had to make sure it was used. :D
 
My litle cousin said this random thing one time, "DK, he's the master of disaster eating all your pancakes" in a songish way. It ryhmed and it sounded good, so I used it.
 
My friend used this name and when I started playing another game (Tribes Starsiege) I used it because it was awesome when it would say "Silencer got killed by a pet rock." Or something to that extent. I just decided to keep using it when I picked up TF2 a few years later.
 
my ign is short for Brave_Zealot, since I'm a starcraft fanatic (it's only the best game ever made, no big deal)

oddly enough, I'm originally a savior-inspired zerg player who then switched to terran, which is what I play now. Toss I only played a little at the beginning, so...yeah...(to those who know what I'm talking about)
 
I have this habit of making names that song completely non threatening at all, thus making people laugh in the process of their head dissapearing or something, its fun ^_^ xxx
 
It was a tossup. Originally, I was self-debating among Beans56109, /dev/beans, GardenGroveBB, and Old School Video Beans. b4k3d b34nz sounds better.

Actually, it's because I found it humorous at the time to spell it in l33t. Then I just kept it out of habit, long after it stopped being funny.
 
Acuturbo is a butchered spelling of Ackaturbo, a German cartoon character. It's misspelled because of some misinformation from a friend, but I decided that I liked the name, so I started using it as my alias for all of the online games I play.
 
Mine came from my random side and my love of root vegetables. I used to use stone nose but that was just stupid.
 
For the love of my name, Anthemjack...

I picked it up on a child daycare center, when a kid gave me a paper saying "JICKAnTHem".

Then I decided to name myself Anthemjack (First name: jack Last name: anthem).
 
Honestly i dont know, I was looking for a name, and i pressed n, and in a list of stuff i already typed...i saw Neurofo...i liked it and used it. I honestly have no clue where it started, maybe in that small time period of me play SRO...i think that's where it orginated, but i still don't know how
 
debated several names esp some old Unreal Tourney names I used. ultimately though rare, I was still getting confused by other players. (my name was poppinfresh, or chapel)

So i picked my nickname a coworker gave me and added my birth year to the end :)
 
I'm not really sure.

I don't really use one name online though, I have quite a few. Means I don't really try to make a name for myself. :P
