Foul Language....

I was not trying not to say anything but simple words like "Sewers" or "Grenade" on mic.

1) Once I was playing, I threw a grenade and I killed myself so I said, "What a DORK!" (Because my game name is "DorkFish"). So obviously that was towards myself, not towards any player. I killed me, I called myself a dork... But I was told "no cussing in server". So I stopped speaking in mic.

2) I got killed and said "Jesus" but I typed it instead of saying it on mic.. Not sure if that was a warning. Admin said something about it.. couldn't hear it.

3) I kept getting killed by one player continuously, so out of frustration... I said "Man, they are kicking my aaaaah-eeh". I almost said "a" and "ss" put together so I stopped in middle and said "Aaaah-eeh".. Then I was told this was my last warning..

Ok.. so, I got my last warning for saying "Dork", "Jesus", and "Ahhh-eeh". Before these three words, I have NEVER said anything foul, except "Poop" the first day I joined EdgeGamers (which I was scolded enough for it).

So I am not sure if it is my accent (Californian accent), or if those words are really not allowed... Do I need to change my name so it does not contain the word "Dork"? Am I not allowed to say any names of religious figures such as "Jesus" because it may offend people of religion? And I do apologize for "almost" saying "a" and "ss" put together....

But c'mon, am I really going to be banned from server if I say another word that is something of "Dork", "Jesus" or "Ahhhh-eh"? I understand I slur my words a bit. The reason I started to complain while playing but I stopped and came here was that I was told to NEVER question an admin on server.

DoD is a game where a group of soldiers rip each other apart using guns to a bloody mess and bashing someone's back with a knuckled knife or a spade. Not to mention that hlstatx thing follows how many times you've shot an enemy on the head and what kind of weapon was used to kill another....

I'm just appalled I got my first and last warning for ban. If anyone in the forum or anyone who played the game with me... say different if you've EVER heard me say anything that is foul than the three (Dork, Jesus, Ahhh-eh).

If some of the admins don't like me for any reason. Go ahead and just tell me through PM why rather than picking on me in game for saying some stupid things that are said in rated PG movies.

I will try to make this simple.

All administrators have a different tolerance for language. Their tolerance level is in part due to what has been happening in the game. They are allowed to use their own judgement. The point is that it is their judgement.

Think of it like being pulled over by a police officer. Wise people do not annoy the police once the flashing lights have come on.

If an admin gives you a warning respect it and lay low because they are going to be very critical of everything you say. One of the things an admin can do is ban you for admin disrespect. So don't argue because this will annoy them. It is one of our rules.

Are some admins harsher than others? Of course. Is it fair? That doesn't matter. They have been given the responsibility of making the servers nice for everyone. They must divert part of their attention from enjoying the game in order to observe that everyone is acting in a mature and respectfull manner.

They were promoted to administrator because it was felt that they understood the philosophy of edge gamers and had the maturity to be an administrator. They have earned your respect even if you find them less than ideal.

An administrator who is found to be abusing their powers will be delt with by house and division leaders and the council. People are demoted as well as promoted though it sickens their superiors to do it. Administrators in the game keep an eye on everyone, not just the e's and pubbers.

So accept their seemingly arbitrary decisions, and when you find them on the other side, hunt them down and empty your clip into them. But do not disrespect them

I have seen admins warn and even kick players for saying "damn" and others let go waay harsher words whithout saying anything. It all depends on the flow of the game, the mood of the admin and many other factors.
The thing is there is no definite list of unnapropriate language, since there are many variables... you just have to go with what you think is best for the community and for the server at that time, obviously abiding by eGO rules.

anyway you did well in not arguing with the admin in-game, bringing it to the forums.

Yep, I know that disagreeing an Admin on server will get you banned, and I've been told before. That's why I brought it to forums. But when did I disrespect an admin Quaffer?

And I do perfectly understand that the rule on foul language is what the admin wants it to be, and there is no definite rule. But don't you think it is slightly odd that saying "Dork", "Jesus", and "Ahhh-eeh" is a bannable offense in using foul language?

Like I've said before, I do not talk back in the server. If I think what admin has said or done is wrong, I shut up and take it... and if I think it went too much, then I bring it to forums. For example, when I called myself a "dork" because my game name is "DorkFish" and I was warned... I said nothing to disagree. I just said "Sorry". How is this disrespecting an admin?

Simple answer..don't say over mic just type them. I know it is a bother but still it's better then causing issues.

1) I can see possibly how said admin thought maybe it was an insult to another player cause face it, over the internet no one knows who's its directed to, however, for language I dont see how this is swearing.

2) Not seeing this either Ive heard people say "Oh my god" as in theyre shocked at what just happened, etc.

3) Again not seeing it, as crap, hell, and damn are acceptable as long as not over used at least unless this has changed. And since you didnt actually use "ass" Im not seeing how they got "ass" out of "aaaaahh-ehh"


However, I wasn't there but for what you mentioned Im not seeing why you were warned about swearing, again I wasnt there so there could have been more then what was told.

Please ANY admin, or ANY players... can ANYONE tell me if I actually did anything bad in the server while you were there? I played on Kalt for many many hours and many of Ego members played. Please.. ANYONE let me know if you remember me doing or saying anything offensive.

And I promise you, whatever I did to get you guys upset... I will fix it. Just let me know instead of picking on me.

Lol he should be warned if he warned you.
I can't really see how they would tell you to watch your language but what ever. They did and I guess we all gotta follow it :|

I stopped using mic, and stopped typing in game as well. If I say nothing and type nothing, no possibility of saying things that people get upset about... This way I wont say something that is offensive to people by accident.

It's just a bummer that I just spent $60 the day I joined EdgeGamers....just to have a better mic and headset to talk in the server. It hasn't arrived yet, maybe i'll use it for something else... =(...

OK you should not have to not talk or not even type that is silly.

I have played with you a lot on Kalt .. I like you.
You are a good player and eager to learn the eGO way to do things.
I know I stopped you once when you said the umm maybe ass or something… but as soon as I told you i just did not want it to elevate you seem to understand.
I have never seen you do anything that deserved being kicked for.
Even at that you should always be warned first and you have never repeated anything even when you did not understand why you where warned.
I would like to talk to you about this in vent or if you will drop to spec tomorrow when I see you in game.
