DVD-ROM
DVD+RW: DL w\ lightscribe

Any suggestions? should i just stick with my machine for a while or UPGRADE or all together buy a new one and Sell This one.????

Dell?? You said...DELL?!?!?

But I guess if you must purchase from them, get the best of the best. Probably the only way you can guarantee quality from Dell.

lol. ya DELL. well im still waiting for my credit card to come through with Velocity Micro. BTW whats so bad about DELL though? If i had 3000 dollars cash i would definately build my own.. but since im a credit abuser i gotta go through a company.

You should really only replace your machine at this point if it is keeping you from playing the games you enjoy or if pieces are starting to fail (i.e. HDD, PSU, etc). Otherwise, I'd say keep it for another 6 months and then see how the prices on the Core i7 machines are doing.

your machine looks pretty good enough already, i would wait another 6 months and then evaluate your options, cause you can get more of an upgrade in 6 months...especially if you are using 3k credit...

ewww dell go to any good company that will price match a system you could get something tons better than what you could get with dell

Ya, he kinda has the 3k credit for FOR Dell, he has to spend it with them so he may as well use that money to get a new machine from them down the road. (Even though Dell is meh)

Ya i think im going to follow your guys advice. Ill wait a while for those prices on the new core i7 machines to go down. they all are pretty pricey right now.

from exp from someone who got a dell, an xps 700, dont do it. for the same rig you can buy from them you can build one cheaper and have the ability to upgrade it. i cant upgrade my processor or mobo because the case is custom built for dell mobo's, and i cant use the mobo i have in this case because the mobo is custom as well...it will break a week after your warranty ends. i bought a 3k rig and its already dieing about 2 yrs later

Don't spend $3000 dollars on a computer.

I would recommend not spending more than $1700.

edit: I just read your specs. You definitely don't need to upgrade!

Yeah. Don't upgrade, and don't spend $3000. I built a solid computer a few months ago for ~$800. It runs everything I've thrown at it. Ok, I had a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and external DVD/RW, so helped, but still... $3000 is just a waste.

Rule of thumb: Don't upgrade or replace until it's absolutely necessary. If your computer can run high end games with lower settings do it until you can't any longer. Spending a bunch of money to make a game look pretty is a waste of money.

Besides, in first person shooters (and most other fast paced games) unless you're staring at the wall you won't even notice if you have it on lowest or highest settings most of the time.

And if you do buy another one for the sake of making it pretty, donate your old computer to a charity or someone who likes video games but can't afford a decent computer instead of scrapping it or hiding it a closet.

i agree 100% with the others unless you have to spend it in a certain ammount of time wait

my 1500 dollar comp lasted me 5 years
and it ran the higher end games at low

just wait and relax ;-)

and play video games of course

i would do it, just because im a computer enthusiast.

I dont know if it would be $3000 worth of computer, but i would just get one to say "haha"
