Can you use the card? Yes.

Can you run other cards that are better? Yes. How much money do you want to spend?

Yeah, you might wanna invest in something a little bit more powerful

For an extra $27, how about the PNY 8800GT ($120)? - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8657553&st=hd3850&type=product&id=1196469743507

You'll get a card thats on average, and to put it simply, twice as fast as the 8600GT, if not more depending on what games you play. You'll also need a PSU that can deliver roughly 26A down the 12v rail(s). So, crack that case open and take a look at the specs on your PSU.
Or he can buy from newegg, and get the 320MB 8800GTS for 90$

"I want it to be form best buy or circuit city because I don't have C.C."

Did you miss that? o_O

umm you also have to think about what the power supply can handle... the bigger the card the more power it needs...

I want some thing that will at least run COD4 and TF2 in the 130's or below.
and if i can get over the specs of tf2 and cod4 and still not kill my PC while staying in price I'm okay.
