Do you honstley try in pubs?

I am a competitive person.

The only time I have fun is when the game is good/close/challenging, win or lose.

Things like that make me angry, I can understand if they are new to the game and don't understand the mechanics but it doesn't ease my frustration. I'm picky and I usually demand a level of understanding of the game from all players on both sides to really have fun.

This.

It seems every time I join a Pub, nobody knows how to play... The medic is ubering the same heavy who has 6 points when I have 32 and joined when he had 3 points... The heavy is boxing... The pyro is spamming the sg area when there Is a whole unaware group that he can just go backburn... Etc. When I game I game to win, and people that don't makes me angrys... rawr!
A little bit of column A and a little bit of column B and a little bit of column D.
ROFL!?!? Who plays on non-eGO servers anyways?
eGO doesn't have Zombie Fortress. A surprisingly well done point capture map.

I guess I said it kind of wrong- I don't game only to win, I kind of mean people who put no effort at all- I game to... umm.. put effort... yah!

Well, you see, I'd probably be the medic who's healing the heavy that dies every two seconds >.>

So maybe the saddest part is that I do game to win in Public servers, but I usually end up losing. >.>

Heh, in pubs all I do is play spy and try to get better by backstabbing as many clueless medic+heavy combos as possible ;)

LIES!

on a more serious note, i find that ego servers seem to have a much higher quaility of play, thats for sure. I find the game much more challenging on our servers. And i plya to do well/win, becuase i enjoy playing well, i don't really anjoy anything else apart from messing around if the rest of the server is.

I think that is definitely true Rob...Perfect example would be Warpath (because I only play that map) full of regulars (includes both eGO and non-eGO players)!!!! You got quite a bit of talent/skill when the roster includes: Josey Wales, Jehuty, Jem, Azznik, Deadly Doughnut, Ronin56109, hax.butthead, the UFA crew: Ty,Trip, yellowbluebus, and Booman, Snakely, Mudkiller, Old Master Q, ISU Longshot, Batmonk, Denver the Dinosaur, ack, the XA crew:Hatred, Toonker, Cindafnrella, Roknrol, Revelation, Underhill, Rodion, hax.hoot, and many othersl It is going to be challenging when you have this type of talent on both sides..thats why there are SSOOO many stalemates in Warpath(<<just lealized this). I have tried playing in other servers..they are fun for awile..but then it seems to be too easy (<<not trying to toot my own horn) that I get bored...I go to Warpath and get my butt handed right to me..and I try again...this cycle repeats itself and I get slowly better over time.

I get so frustrated if there are complete newbies....they never know what they are doing but ending up crit killing you while the shot misses you about 10 feet....

95% of the time, losing a game of TF2 isn't a matter of skill, it's the presence or absence of team leadership.

The reason I say this is that --almost without exception-- when I am auto-balanced from one side of an avalanche to the other, the difference is as clear as a voice on a microphone. The winning team is coordinating their effort, which is usually the result of one or two very good players acting as vocal leaders. So if you are any good and you think you know how your team could pull it together, and you are interested in winning, be "that guy" by speaking up.

I will grant that there are times that an incredibly awesome player is also trying very hard to pull the team together, and no one is biting. Very frustrating. To quote the humble General Francis X. Hummel, "Come on guys, do I need to put a broom in my *** and sweep the stairs for you, too?" If you've tried getting people to communicate and they refuse to do so, there's nothing else you can do. Treat it like your team has switched into DeathMatch mode and take your pleasure in slipping through enemy lines and backstabbing that one especially irritating sniper or something. :)

For the record, I know exactly what you mean by, "play to win." You're a strategist, you enjoy figuring out how to win and making it happen, not just the "hold in W and click primary fire" aspect of the game. I do, too. Teamwork is fun.

eGO servers are pubs... some servers are just catering to newer players aka they don't have a player base. In those servers, try to help the team and show them how to play if you can. Me and kascade go to those servers to FALCON PUNCH as medics =)

You should always try to win, no matter the server.

The exception to this is when it's midnight after a long day. Then I just want to sit down and get some kills. Blackmesa is great for that.
