Does anyone play this game?

If so what are your names in game?

I tried playing it once and may try it again...but.

This game is not that noob friendly and has a learning curve that is not much of a curve and more of a brick wall.

Easily the most difficult MMO to get used to.

I used to play, along with Duke1701 on Chris, and auto. But then we all decided it was a pointless thing, and like SB said, its way not noob friendly and way to hard to learn. For me, the game was " go mine ore" or " go click on a speck and blow it up into a shiny speck". Just sayin...

I loved (still love) the game, but I just don't have the money to pay for it. For a while I was playing the demo over and over again, lol.

It's a good game. To me, it's far better than WoW

I did the free month trial, and as much as I tried, I couldn't get into it. There was just too much to it! It was too much complexity and time spent to be fun, IMHO.

Eh, I played it for a bit...but some things just turned me off it.

1. Takes WAY too long to learn essential skills. Even with maxed learning skills, it can take up to 2-5 real life DAYS just to learn skills to fly ships properly. I'm paying to play a game, not paying to log in, toggle a skill then log out and do something else.

2. Far too slow. It doesn't even pick up until you do pvp, and you can't do THAT effectively until you have tier II skills or can fly battleships effectively. And don't even get me started on trying to travel in the game. Takes you 30mins-1 hour trying to get to some places.

3. Few things to do. You can either mine, or try and pvp. Thats it. Mining is to make money, pvp is to waste it. You can do research and stuff, but thats more of a side thing.

My main gripe was that it was slow paced. I myself stuck with it till I could fly battleships effectively, and just counting me I had more isk than the entire corporation I was in (when I quit, I had 1bil+). It was just slow, and time consuming...especially if you want to learn skills.

Do you still play?

Im almost past the Battleship phase, but you people are saying its hard to learn and what not.

Nothing is handed to you on a silver platter like WoW is =p its a game that teaches you economics for one thing, aswell as how to be patient
over-all the time it took them to put that game together and the detail they did is astounding.. not to mention they have to run the server on a super computer.

And yes i play.. err.. sometimes add Zergswarm

I play Eve on and off. My profession is one that is frowned upon my Many :o

My Main chars:
Mexiroach And Shale Valuat

@ Cervani:

1) The skills system is all about patients. That means no grinding to uber high levels in 3 days (like wow, diablo, and all those other lvl rpg's). Also, they train while you are offline, too. Example: Im training Minmatar Frigate to lvl 4. It takes 22 hours but it will train some overnight while I sleep (yay). You can also Pay for you subscription using In-game money. It just costs more. (unlike WoW)
So instead of it being $14 a month, you can pay 300 Million ISK (Isk is the money used in eve). That sound like allot, but its not. ISK is easy to come by. I make 200 thousand per mission I do + a couple million per ransom I make.

2) You can PvP right off the bat. Granted you'll a weak little pest untill T2 gear, but Its fun either way.
Im flying in a Rifter (t1 frigate) with good t1 named weapons and gear and able to hold my own Vs a cruiser.

3) There are MANY things to do other than Mine or PvP. You can go Ratting (killing NPC pirates), Mission running, Salvaging, Explore, "Plex", Invent, Research and Development, Manufacturing, Corporation management, Piracy (my profession. Im a nice pirate though), etc...

in the end it just depends on what the person feels about the game after their trial is done.

I played for about two years...have a 29 million skpt PVP character that can fly pretty much every T2 Caldari and Gallente ship. IT's a good game with a huge learning curve. I ended up quitting because it's too impersonal - you aren't able to actually fly your ship, so it makes PVP a bit detached. I may end up playing it again someday, but probably not anytime in the near future.
