hey guys, i moved from my moms house to my own place and i sat down to unload on some COD4 and my game crashed when i clicked the .exe I said oh well so I went to steam to insurgency and it crashed. CSS crashed 1.6 crashed. Trackmania crashed.

all my games used to work fine, but when i moved houses all my games wont work.
im honestly thinking of just getting a new mobo/proccess and more ram while newegg has killer deals on them.
I have a AMD 64 4200+ dual core 2.20ghz dont know if im up to date anymore.

From what you describe, it sounds like your computer boots up OK - to the desktop - but then when you choose a game, it crashes. Is that right?
Here are my guesses:
1. You have a hardware issue. Open up your case and ensure everything is still secure and where it should be. Pull out and insert your RAM. Make your video and whatever cards are seated correctly. Make sure all the cables are firmly connected.
2. You have some type of (soft) disk error. Run a disk check (not a defrag) and make sure to check the option to fix errors. Then run a defrag.
If neither of these work, you should be getting some type of Dr. Watson error or crash log. Or something should be logged in the Event Viewer. What do those logs say when you crash?
And if you have a AMD X2 (dual core) 4200+, no you aren't "current", but the moment you turn on your PC, your PC is no longer current. Just like buying a car. Your PC is just fine for running Ins and COD.

everything but COD4 crashes now.

Ahh.. That's much more helpful. So.. all the games *except* COD work? Or none of the games work *except* COD?
I read your post as just having problems with COD. This is a known bug with COD4. It seems to be driven by audio driver issues, but there are suspected other causes too. Have you patched COD to the latest level? What level are you using? No idea why it just started though.

I got it working. I had some disk errors on my hdd. I then had to do a cod4 fix. (enable sound driver and plug in my mic.)
