in dod a lag sooooo much and i keep getting meesages like these in consle :

looks like your Steam cache is corrupted. Try defragging in Steam.

Which you would do by right-clicking the game in steam, click Properties > Local Files > Defragment Cache Files.

If by "lag" you mean low fps rate then you should try this (note: This only works for laptops I think)

1. Check your power options. To do this, right click your battery/charging icon and select Power Options.

2. Next, make sure that you have selected the High Performance option.

I lagged in TF2 because my option was set to Power Saver. I think that when you select this option, your graphics card does not perform at its best.
