Yes im new, and yes thats a 42 inch monitor

Ok problem is what you see, and for some reason it mainly happened when i was on this site lol. but its seemed to have stopped but im sure itl start again another day

problem is here

And i just did a full wipe of my HDD ( that crashed after i re-installed Vista so i had to get another HDD to install windows on)

but it starts off with that and i can shut it down and wait like 10-20 seconds then turn it back on but somtimes when that crap starts it doesnt stop until i fidget around with it.. its not overheating my comp runs below 25 C. i built the computer so im knowledgable with all this crap but i need help determining wether this is a Mobo problem or a Video card

hopefully motherboard because i got a $500 video card =\

Well, it's probably not the motherboard. Your options are 1) try a different video card in your computer and 2) try your monitor with a different computer. It could either be the monitor or the video card, probably nothing else.

Well its for sure not my tv because i watch tv and play my wii just fine. i have however figured its somehow related to heat.

see i turn my computer off all the way when it does it and if i turn it back on immidiatly it takes 30 seconds for it to start glitching and crash my computer. if i leave it off for 10 minutes then its fine for about 30 minutes even with a powerful fan blowing in through the case, i dont understand whats going on and i spent nearly 1500 on this rig and its not a year old >_<

EDIT: the video card is fine.. im baffled atm any other ideas
EDIT EDIT: it seems i got it fixed.. it was overheating at 50 C?

anyway cranked the fan to 40% run speed and it brought it down to 25 and i havnt had that little glitch crash yet. thanks for your help :)

Try a different video card in your motherboard, to determine if the problem is related to your board or card.
