Twilight+PotatoCannon= Love?

Battlefield Earth was actually pretty decent.

The thing, going back onto subject (Twilight series), is that you must respect the author. Coming from an aspiring author myself, the way she crafts in a way, she's doing something right. The way she has managed to captivate so many readers, it's simply amazing.

While I haven't read the books, I can derive from what some of my friends have said, as well as just general knowledge, that the characters are simply captivating. Something about vampires that girls love.
The mysterious, the villainous hero, charming and wicked in his own unique ways. Thus, vampires are a wonderful protagonist, as they fit wonderfully into the above mold as a hero, as long as they are well developed.

I plan to read them soon, if only just to observe and take notes on the character development.

I feel as if I am betraying my gender somehow, but alas, it is the price I must pay for progression of my writing!
 
Don't forget The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit guys, those are some great books.
 
All my lady friends say its really good. I'm about to try it since they keep hounding me to.

QFT! It's OK for anyone to like it, I have absoolutely nothing against that. What I do have a problem with is every girl I've talked to since last year to this year (freshman in college) has apparently retreated to their Boy Band frenzy "OMG OMG Edward Cullen is sooo hott!! OMG BFF!!" It's fine to passionately like something, but really, there is a limit, and being even sexually attracted (there have been too many that I've heard talking about it) to a ficitonal character gets to be too much to take, lol.

lol yeah same after all the girls including my girl friend worte "team edward" (I dumped her shortly after!) I said well why not and read them :O
 
I don't like to? Nah. Don't often? Nope, to easy going. Absolutely despise? Close, but not what I'm looking for. hate reading with a passion.

I never could get into it. Its TV for me.
 
Read the first three books, liked them so far, received a recommendation not to read the last one, probably won't.
 
Okay... I actually have a question about the author: >.> I can't remember who, but someone told me that she thought she invented vampires? She supposedly never heard of them before, is this true?
 
Uhh I really wish Bram Stoker was still alive to beat the crap out of Stephanie Meyer for giving vampires a bad name.

Vampires are 1) Not romantic (these dudes kill even when they don't have to) 2) Are very much so loners 3) LIVE IN DARK PLACES.. not cities.

Sorry, I hate what she has done. /rant
 
Im a fan of classic vampires, not these new girly ones, sorry but Bram Stoker does indeed own Stephanie Meyer.
