Ok well I've been playing tf2 for a long time now & was just wondering a few things.

1 is there a limiter to how many times I can install TF2?

2 The minimum is a DirectX 8 level graphics card
I have a ATI MOBILITY RADEON Xpress 200 Series

My physics card is AGEIA Physx

Will my comp be able to play it?

*sorry for the parts that's in all caps but that's how it's spelled*
 
Probably not. Seeing that you have on board, you will probably run the game with crappy results.

Also note, your graphics card is not the only thing I need to know before I can make an accurate observation.

What is your processor?
How much RAM do you have?

To answer these, go into Start->Run->Type in "dxdiag" and hit 'ok'.

Don't worry, if you are not very tech savvy then this will not hurt your computer at all or change any settings,

My processor & ram are above minim requirements

1.8 GTz

ram is 1022 MB
 
I just restarted my computer after installing steam & tf2 & I got this when I turned on my comp

ERROR

Steam.exe (main exception): CMultiFieldBlob(pSerialized): Bad field - extends past end of blob

& then there is an OK box to click
 
Yes, you need to delete that file in the Steam folder, which normally is c:\Valve\Steam or c:\program files\Steam or where-ever you have it installed. Then you should start Steam again, it does a short update and it's all good. :)
 
Yep, your system will run it I have that card in my lappy, it will run about 11 fps on 800x600...
 
Installing the game limit: No one, outside of Valve, really knows. I'm sure there's a limit, but it's up to Steam/Valve to determine what it is. I'm sure if they detected the same license key being installed on 500 computers, they'd probably revoke the license. But then again, maybe not.

Can you run the game? Well, let's look at the hardware stats:

1. DirectX 8? Not a problem. Almost 15 percent of PC's are still using it.
2. Xpress 200 card? Slow. Outdated. Will it run. Probably. Especially with a 1.8 CPU.
3. Your Physics card? Not particularly helpful. TF2 doesn't use the AGEIA Physx engine.

I run a Dell Inspiron 1501:
AMD Sempron 3500+ 1.6 ghz
1gb of DDR2 SO-DIMM 5300
ATI Xpress 1150 [128mb ded/128mb shared]


Your laptop should be ok playing TF2. But I recommend you run at lowest resolution(I play at 1024x768 and my fps can drop below 10fps a lot). You could also consider trying a console script. PM me and I could trying make one for you.

Depends on your definition of playable. ;)

On my old setup, my FPS would often drop to 10 - 11 fps if there was a lot happening on screen. Could I snipe? Uh, no. Could I do just about anything else? Pretty much. Occasionally, I'd get blown up by a rocket that I couldn't avoid, but I'd say that it's still playable.
 
11 FPS? Ouuuccchhhh. I don't see how one could play like that at all. I'd consider that as not playable x_x Then again, I'm a spoiled little guy when it comes to system specs XD
 
I have a mobility radeon x600 with similar processor specs and 2GB of RAM. I used to run it with 512MB of RAM no problem. I run it now with all medium settings. I would assume you can run it fine on dead bottom, if not low settings.
