Just thought i would let you guys know that i updated to the steam client canidate after i did this the next day i woke up and day of defeat : source and it popped up saying my guest pass had expired even though i bought the game and could go into my account ,which even showed i bought it. I don't know if this might happen to someone maybe my computer just hates me i'm just saying if it does happen the way to fix it is simply undo the steam client canidate.

This is a known bug that users have been reporting on the Steam forums, and it also happened to me. Just don't get the beta.
