By these games i mean THE very first one and rogue spear where you would actually have to plan the mission.
Yes, they have had god-awful AI but they were quite fun. Anyone play them and still occasionaly pick them up?

I still have them ^_^

Oodles of fun for me still. Black Thorn is my favorite one. What I like doing is going in alone on the Maze-like map with 100 terrorists. lol

Rainbow six and rogue spear are the games that got me playing online.

that is also were "xosniper" came from.

It was sweet. Loved to go pistol only on elite in Coop multilayer. THat HK Mark 23 is a badass pistol.

Ya, me and my brother have been playing them on a lan ever since he bought the orginals in a pack

I have them as well. First game to get me into online gaming. I wish i could still play them but for some reason they dont display right on my computers. I was apart of a clan and everything until i updated my old pc and bought a dedicated video card so i could play css.

Oh man...those were the good ole' days. Me and Antonio Maldini tearing it up!

I enjoyed the Eagle Watch expansion...but it's been so long I can't remember which mission was my favorite.

I remember the first Rainbow Six for Playstation One! Crazy times, that was. Man, that was about six years ago....man how time flies. I wish now that i still had that PS1 to play some of the old relic games I've got. The console broke a while back ( now I have an X-Box ), but I kept the games in hope of having a PS1 again someday...still waiting.

Hmm. I had (maybe still have, somewhere), Rainbow 6 + expansion... Eagle something. Meh. Can't say I ever liked it. :-/ When I got it, I thought it was $10 but it was actually $20, it was all downhill from there. I prefer SWAT 3-4.

Great games both. First games I ever LAN'd on regularly.

Can't believe it hasn't been said (or that I haven't seen it used as a player name)....

Tango Down.

Me too! Rainbow Six & especially Rogue Spear is what got me into online fps gaming. I played a TON on mplayer, and was eventually near Neo status as far as bullet dodging in concerned. Man I played too much of that game, ladders and all.

that is also where "Sn1PeR" came from -- and no, I wasn't a sniper in Rogue Spear, I owned you with my mp5-pdw and bullet dodging capabilities. Boom, centerview headshot!

Glad to see many here enjoy real tactical shooters. :D I joined my first ever team/clan back in the day while playing Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. Those were definitely good times, playing elite coop against tough enemy AI was real nice not to mention a challenge. Rolling doors open little by little, peeking around corners etc. all added to an authentic experience. Unfortunately the series has gone down hill over the years. (cough Lockdown... cough) The latest R6: Vegas 2 game is actually an okay game with ranks and tons of gear to choose from to make your own unique player. Times have changed, I wish they would go back to the "peeking" leaning around corners first person feel of it, instead of the "stop & pop" gameplay of the Vegas series.

Really? I thought R6: Vegas was a great "next step" in the evolution of the series. In some ways it's everything I hoped the series would become.

Don't get me wrong though...I do love the originals. I just might have to install the original R6 and Eagle Watch now. Maybe even Raven Shield.

I bought athena sword for PC off of eBay only to find out that it's an expansion so its now sitting in my game shelf being useless :(

I had the original rainbow six also.

I got in brand new, put it in, and it was broken. I probably got 10 minutes of play time, half of it was going through the menu.
