Most likely AGM.

CYMA is on the verge of exiting my "iffy" list. In the beginning they were aweful, but are also beginning to prove themselves quite well.

muhahahaha off to the airsoft store in a couple hours. who knows if i'll come back with just my new parts or if i'll come back with a new gun + the parts i need.

Re:

Hey Airsoft gurus ! I am looking for a Glock 17 or Glock 23 airsoft pistol. I don't know alot about them, but I have seen some that the slide works like a real pistol. I thought about getting one for training since real ammo has gone up so much. Currently I have the Smith and Wesson M&P that I fool with. But really looking for a Glock style. Any suggestions on where to find one ?

Inferno- Good points about the KA line. You're right, TM's are rock solid dependable. I've a TM AK and a TM Uzi that are both from around 2001-2002; neither one has ever been apart and both still work just fine. I keep telling all the new kids who say Echo-1 is just as good as TM to come back in five years and tell me that. The AK especially has seen heavy use and still shoots 255fps (down from the stock TM 282). I've got a tune-up kit for it; just waiting to have the time. Also, have you seen the new KA Galil? The SAR especially looks awesome. Come tax return it WILL be mine.

RedOne- If you want a Glock to play airsoft with, I'd get a TM (Tokyo Marui - it's a brand) Glock 18c AEP (automatic electric pistol - same internals concept as an airsoft rifle, but packed in a pistol). If you want one to use to practice real steel without the ammo costs, look into a GBB (gas blowback). Slide operates just like real and has some recoil effects. Runs on green gas (it's propane with silicone lubricants added). I had a KWA Glock 23 at one time. Only reason I sold it was to finance an AEP purchase. Shop around a pick up a name-brand one (like a TM, KWA, KJW, WA) and you'll find it fits all the real steel holsters (even FOBUS and Serpa) so you can even practice quick draws and tactics using your duty gear.

Thanks for the quick reply.

the only brand that i would steer clear of that idol mentioned is KJW there pistols aren't as well put together as the other brands. but if you can definitely go for Western Arms they are rock solid and easily one of the top pistol brands out there.

Firstly, generally things that are modeled after guns like that will be terrible performers. Buy a speed loader, won't take so long.

Also, it's reload.

One thing people unfamiliar about airsoft need to understand is that FPS MEANS LITTLE TO NOTHING!

Performance of a gun is based upon the following:
Hop up- the most important part! Good hopup, as long as other things are up to par, will yield good accuracy, and range.

Barrel, smooth, precision barrels will yield good performance, kinda self-explanatory.

Internals... again, obviously high-quality parts make a good gun.

NO where in any situation with FPS matter.

I've been dealing airsoft guns for over 2 years, and here are the brands I would recommend, and not recommend.

RECOMMENDED:
High quality Taiwanese-made:
Tokyo Marui- cannot go wrong with TM, inventors, and the model manufacturer for airsoft as long as it's been around. Cannot match the quality control.

Classic Army- had some troubles at first, nice metal bodies, and performance is close to that of TM, and generally shoot a little "hotter" out of the box.

Chinese/Clone Brands:
JG (Jin Gong)- if you are going cheap, this is the brand to get. I've dealt with over a dozen of these, and they are very impressive. Great starter guns, and have proven very reliable, and can accept industry-standard TM parts in their guns.

A&K- pretty solid guns. Their more notable line is their affordable M249s. Decent brand, not as good as JG though.

AGM- similar to A&K, M14 model is their flagship gun

Dboys- Nice metal-bodied guns, gaining reliability as they go along.

AVOID!!!!
CYMA
BE (Both Elephant)
Jin Peng
Pretty much any brand other than those listed above.

NOTE: ICS makes good guns, but for the money, not worth it.

I'd be happy to offer anyone wanting info on the sport plenty of help or very good gun pricing, just give me a shout!

yeah i am definily going to buy a speed loder for it.. but im still a little angry that the guns amunition is so fricken small.. i got pwned when i was playing with my friends because of the reloading.. but soeedloaders definitly help

*PHOENIX DOWN

I'm thinking of buying the CYMA M14. Any input from the experienced people here? All I know about airsoft is what I've read online >_>

Ok, but say I want a gun 3/4 (hopefully more) as good as a TM at half (or less) the price... how about then? :P The new CYMAs do sound pretty good, at least out of the clone M14s this one sounds the best.

EDIT: another decent sounding gun (again, for a cheap clone anyway) is the JG AUG. Link to the store that has probably most info on it (probably gonna buy it somewhere else though, preferably local if I can find it): http://www.weaponblender.com/index.php?productID=320

And the M14: http://www.hitguns.com/Cyma-M14-SOCOM-Black-Sniper-Airsoft-Electric-Gun-p/cm032a-black-m14-socom.htm

Also, no one I know has any fancy airsoft guns, so I could get the plastic gearbox BE AUG and I'd still be top dog for a while, but I want something that'll last a decent amount of time and is ok for target shooting when there's no one around.

the only guns as good as TM is ummmmm TM the closest to them is CA and even then most of the time they aren't that great. but i'm into the more competetive style guns so i guess get whatev and see how it works out for ya.

Dont get the CYMA

I just got the Jing Gong DPMS M4-S AEG with Metal Rail System. Only thing DPMS is the logo on the receiver....its a badass gun. I did a poor man chrono and it almost goes completely through the bottom of a can...its all 100% stock also.
