How do i do it?

Hey, i tried to update my xp and it suddenly, when i restarted the comp, gave me the "blue screen of death"? so, we did a system recovery and now everything is scattered... do i have to redownload everything via cd or is there a way to redownload it thru the comp?

just one to get the most recent version of xp, windows, and nothing else...

if u have ur original windows cd u can use that to repair it

xp isnt my problem, it is my games/other files... cant i get them back in any way without the cds?

If you blue screened when trying to do an update (Windows Update?), I'd highly recommend you consider reinstalling Windows from scratch and avoid doing just a system restore.

Sounds like there's more than one issue going on and doing a system restore, while (maybe) preserving your file associations and programs, may also mask other problems that are still present.
