Here are one of the first peeks into the GTX 295. This card will be right up there with the 4870x2 O_O!!!!!!! In these benchmarks this card is on par with the 4870x2. This card was made because of the 4870x2, Nvidia needed a really high-end dual-GPU card to stay in the ring and, well, there she is! Can't wait till these mothers hit Newegg :cool:
(P.S. This card will be the same, if not a little cheaper than the 4870x2s that are out now

I was reading benchmarks and whatnot on it. At lower resolutions, this card does beat the 4870x2, but when bumping the resolution up, the x2 does better. It is just as good as the x2 and sounds like Nvidia is finally trying to catch back up with ATI.
 
Another reason why this is so awesome is because this means the 4870x2 and GTX 295 are most likely going to be having a price war :D which = lower prices!
 
as the engi in tf2 would say "good nite, irene". that thing is way 2 long! its bout as long as the old skool vid cards from in the past when there was this 1 card that had 3 fans on it 2 take care of the cooling issue of the graphic cpu's from back in the day. i think that thing will barely fit in a full atx case.

I opened a picture of the 4870x2 and the GTX 295 in photoshop and then matching up the the PCIe buses the cards are the same length. So yes its long, but its not longer than the 4870x2. (Which fits in almost all full tower cases and also some Mid-size towers)
 
Cool. I will stick to my 260. It does just fine for me. Much cooler than the 4870 and uses less power on idle and full load. :)

That card is beast though. It would whop my card (8800gts 512) up and down the street.
 
I'd still go for a 4870X2. Its drivers are more mature, the performance also doesn't nose-dive when 8xAA is applied.

lets not forget that those drivers are in beta still, im still gunna go with a 4870X2 and with the price drop i might be able to save 200-300 $ to do x-fire :D


on a side note with the new cards will a 4670 crossfire with a 4870X2 cause they both 4k series and im wondering cause im getting a 4670 and i dont want it to go to waste lol
 
I wouldnt even bother CrossFiring a 4670 with a 4870X2. Use it as a backup card for diagnostic purposes. Or maybe build a HTPC and keep it in there for light-gaming. :)
 
Yes, you could.

I gotta admit, Nvidia does have some sexy coolers. Too bad I'll never buy one.

I'll wait for some real benchmarks before I comment.

But look at the GTX 295, it looks huge! I think it won't fit my case, I guess it will be the same size like the 4870X2 will it? Or will it be an inch or more bigger? Lets look how it comes to be, it would've suck if it was 4-5 inch longer :P. Wouldn't fit a ATX case I guess.
 
This is not a graphics card. This is a lethal weapon. Do you need a license to use one of things now?
 
sandwhiched 2 video cards together = meh..

I prefer SLi or a single slot solution..

But i gotta say the card looks damn sexy.
