Dust Filters - Help!

Alright, I've been in the market for a new case, and I've concluded that I'm going to be getting the Cooler Master HAF 932.

Unfortunately, this case does not come with dust filters.

So, I've been reading online, checking reviews, and can't really find a solid type to buy!

So now I go to forums, asking tech people for help.

I'm going to be looking for some dust filters that I can put throughout the HAF 932 case. The case comes stock with 230mm fans, but has holes that allow for 120mm fans to be placed, so I'm assuming that 120mm dust filters can be attached and might be good enough.

Either way, I don't know which ones to get!

Is there a brand any of you would recommend? Or a type that you would recommend?

My dorm room, no matter how many times it gets cleaned, is like the citadel of dust. It's everywhere, so I find myself cleaning my PC a lot. Just trying to cut back on this.

The key my friend, to dust filters, is not having them, it is actually a matter of pressure.

Let's think about this for a minute. You place a handful of sawdust in a cardboard box and you place a vacuum on one end. Then you engage the vacuum, what happens? Nothing, because the negative pressure actually helps the sawdust stay in place. However, you put a blower in there and cut a hole in the other side, due to positive pressure, all the sawdust is forced out the hole.

So in theory, the key is to place as many fans as possible blowing in to force out hot air and dust.

As to actually answer your question, I have heard from tech forums that using Cheesecloth is a good way to filter out dust, although I do not have explicit instructions on how to mount the cloth over a fan.

Making your own dust filters is definitely the way to go! As SixSicSix said, cheesecloth does work. I personally use Swiffer Sweeper cloths (the dry ones), cut them to size and away you go!
