Hey guys i hope your break is going well.

Just so everyone knows i live out in the sticks, literally and im in Washington State, USA. The ice storm is picking up and i have already had power bumps. I've been through this before so just a heads up that i might lose power for maybe up to 4 or 5 days. It sucks here especially because when we lose power we also lose running water... or water period. the the fridges lose their coolness and yeah food becomes a commodity.

It's nothing new for me but its no fun. Anyway just in case i disappear i wanted everyone to know why.

Best of luck! We just got through an icestorm here in Maine a week ago, lost power for a few days... And now two Blizzards within 2 days of each other.... Fun fun!

I have been in that situation before. Your fridge becomes an old fashioned ice box. Just get some snow or ice and stick it in the fridge. Or put your frozen goods outside....

I've done that. Taken all the big pots and filled em with snow and stuck em in the fridge. I tell ya it works great. Either that or stick everything in a snow bank, kinds sucks though when ya wanna get the milk for cereal in the morning.

Yeah John last time it was out that's what we did. Getting the snow out of the now smelly fridge is fun. But then the smell goes away again.

It was out for most of today but we got it back the ice storm wasn't as bad in this area as others.

I hurt for the 44,000 people without power in my area.

Dude, that sounds like the time we had an ice storm down in Texas. There was no power or water it was horrible, but it was back when I was 2 or 3 years old so I barely have any memories of it but I can remember what it looked like and sort of know what it was like.
