Im running WinXp 32 bit. I know i can at least get 3 to 3 1/2 GB of ram to be recognized. The problem is my computer is only recognizing only 2 GB still. i dont know if it is my motherboard. which is an ASUS 570sli... Anyone have any suggestions to whats wrong?

the os does recognize 3.5 gbs, it just doesn't show that it recognizes it.

Windows XP SP3 - 32Bit is not able to work with more than 3GB of Memory. This is totally inclusive based on information released by Microsoft. See my last post.

Windows XP SP3 - 64bit and all other Microsoft Windows 64-bit OS's are able to correctly identify, and use more than enough RAM. Feel free to again, read the links I provided. You cannot upgrade from Windows XP Pro 32-bit to Windows XP Any 64-bit. You will need to either choose to upgrade to Windows Vista Business/Ultimate 64-bit or you will need to perform a backup and reinstall using a 64-bit OS and then reinstall your various programs. If you perform a backup of your steam folder you will not have to re-download all of the various games, which will save you a significant amount of time.

Also, make sure all of your device drivers are 64-bit ready. If necessary, purchase the appropriate hardware to suit your needs.
