Rifleman :(

I've been playing dods for a long time but only Support, Assault and MG. Today I started playing Rifleman and the thing is, I'm terrible at playing rifleman and miss almost every shot. Do you have any tips for a beginner?

try staying medium to long range away from your target cuz most any gun except another rifleman or sniper wont be able to hit ya very well at long ranges use iron sights i know people will disagree with me about the sights but they are my best friend w/ a rifle and if you use the garand understand the recoil of the weapon like you would w/ the bar so the second shot can be placed right next to the first also last thing shoot and scoot down a guy and move camping only helps is your at long range providing support and then move around a bit

see it depends, I use pretty much use only rifles, and if I use the iron sites I cannot hit a thing. Just mess around with it, and whatever feels right, stick with it. It takes some skill to use, but once you get a hang of it its a great class.

keep in mind tho man that its not all about kills. I have hardly and kills but i get alot of points from capping too. So don't worry so much as how you get points, its how many you get you can get just as many if not more by capping and stuff man.

also remember to download the skin for rifle in the forum. It will let you see more than the default rifle when zoomed in.

Never bother shooting on the run with the K98. Garand shoots well on the run though. I'd say start with the garand and get the feel for aiming a rifle and try and always get your first shot on target. Then try with the K98, and those shots should kill.

Yeah, practice is the only way. What I did while playing Strand is if I played Allies I'd kinda play sniper with a Garand. I'd use iron sites and scan the bunkers or sandbags just to get the hang of aiming and such. As Wermacht I'd go over to the right hand side of the map. The right side mortar pit is a good spot. You can see the beach and offer point defense for the field. Plus there's a mortar there so even if you can't hit anybody with your rifle you can still fire off the mortar. Or hang out in the field. You can practice with or without the iron sights and stay far enough back that you can pop off a few shots without having to worry too much about return fire.

skin is on this forum stickied as "Customized Eotech Garand...." If you are not using custom skins to have maximum benefit.... you are on disadvantage

im sorry dorkfish but those custom skins in case you didnt read the forum where you find those... more than half the people said those skins should be ban and i feel the same way it gives you an advantage over another using the same weapon because all it is is a red dot in the middle of the screen

I use tonnes of custom skins to make the game look better, more realistic, have nicer looking gun models, but I really hate those skins. They are really really cheap, I admit I adjusted the Kar iron sights a bit, but not so much that they will give a really unfair advantage, so it kind of looks more like the COD 5 Sites.

The k98 is basically my default weapon. I'm not twitchy enough to use assault well, I stink with the support weapons. The k98 is very effective at range. Usually it's 1 shot, 1 kill. Tactics-wise, I tend to stay standing up and strafe back and forth around corners/cover or pop up and down behind cover. That way if I miss I'm behind cover as I reload. Also, if you stand still too long trying to aim you usually just end up dead. You can play sniper with IS as people have noted, but you'll lose against mg's and snipers most of the time.

On the other side, the M1, I'm not as good. I feel like I'm shooting rubber bullets most of the time. The problem is the damage it does. Unless you get a head-shot or perfect chest shot it's not likely your target is going down. The recoil is so much that lining up the next time takes almost as much time as the k98 reload. You can crouch or prone and reduce the recoil, but then you are immobile.

In the end, it's all about practice.

Hey PiPBoy an Jimmeh, I don't like using ANY custom skins actually. I only use it because I KNOW FOR SURE that other people are using them to get advantage. I am only using it just so that I am not at disadvantage.

Of course it makes the game look really stupid. I mean I have Soccer team Skin for Americans so they look much colorful (It is from FPSBanana, anyone can download) and bright and soldiers of WWII are holding Aimpoint stuck to rifles and Sniper guns look like just zoomed in screen with no black around the scope..

It is dumb and makes the game ridiculous looking. But I don't like the idea of being at a disadvantage when EdgeGamers allow people to download and use custom skins. Some people use ever skin they can find to use it for their advantage... and I don't want to be at disadvantage

If im correct, a couple of JONES ppl got banned from our servers for using bright colored skins, so probably not a good idea mate.

I already asked if using skins that is available to everyone on FPSBanana was ok. And I was told it was ok because anyone can download it. Just like the Aim-Point custom rifle skin that stickied by an Admin, on our forums.

If specific skins on FPSBanana should not be used... the list should be stickied.
