Hello,
I am looking for some advice and would appreciate any as I am not the best person when it comes to computers. I would like to purchase a new graphics card for my pc and currently I have an Intel motherboard model D946GZIS with Radeon X1600Pro series 512 mb video card. I am thinking of buying a DIAMOND Radeon HD 3650 Over Clocked GDDR2 1GB 3650PE1GOC Video Card here is the link for it

It says that its operational for vista but does that mean it won't run on xp because all I have is xp. If there is something better out there with HD because I might be getting an LCD monitor then would you kindly leave a link to it please.

whats your MAX cash limit and what kind of games you play??? like crysis or just steam games??? and yes anything that says will work with vista (thats hardware) should work with XP but i love vista :D

Yes what is your Max Cash limit? Evil Jester and i are in the 4670 Ati club right now.
 
Check newegg first (be sure to use the link though eGOMall on the left side on the screen). I just bought a 4830 for $109, that would be MUCH better than that 3650. For that price, get a card with 512mb DDR3 over the 1gb DD2. You will get better results.

Lol, overclock the darn thing to make it like the 4850 :D, easy money, yet hard to cool.
 
ya i got a 4670 now i got it as an x-mas gift its AWESOME can play cod4 and codwaw on max settings with NO stutter at all and for an extra 10$ you can get a pre-overclocked one like mine also Anthemjack add me (luciow282) the one i got is in te link ---> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161252 its under 80$ mine cost like 120 cause im from canada :D o well but its worth EVERY penny
 
My max would be about $200, maybe -- depends if its really worth it. I play mostly games like Age of Conan which is a WoW type game and games like DoD. Also my mother board can't support DDR3 ram I don't know if that would apply to a video card as well?
 
Jester would it work with my mother board even though it can't support DDR3 Ram? I don't know if the video card is somehow different?
 
Oh on second thought forget about the LCD option I thought I was getting an lcd monitor, but its actually just an LCD TV which is nice too :D. So that changes everything lol.
 
on the card it dont matter cause if if did no one would be able to use the 4870 cause it has ddr5 memory on it and i still say go for the 4670 for less then 80$ its so worth it and yes a card with ddr3 will work on your mobo also why get the 4850 if he dont need it why wast the cash on it when a 4670 will do good?

I need something that will support HD and non-HD because I'm not sure if I will be getting the LCD. I might have to give it up for a vacuum instead lol.
 
ewwww vaccum but the 4670 that i say you should get (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161252) have 2 dvi ports and comes with a dvi to vga dongle so i would work with a tube monitor and it also have a dvi to HDMI dongle and it WILL put out full hi-def if you got a hi-def or bluray player on your computer and it will put out 7.1 sound via the card right thru the HDMI dongle along with FULL 1080P so for 80$ it will be AMAZING and will probably be more then you need and f you do it right for 100$ you could also get a new lcd monitor muhahahaha so it would be a steal for you :P
 
Actually my tv can be used as a monitor i just bought a cord that would let me do that because its has hdmi and my current card has an hdmi slot so i'm using my new lcd right now its really nice and DoD looks so much better. I can actually see things I couldn't see before like people's heads in the dark area's. Couldn't do that with my tube! I'm gonna check out that video card, but do you know if there's a 1gb card some where because I think that would be better for vista.
 
Alright thanks a lot I went with that one got some other nice goodies like wires and headset also. I am hoping it will work well with a vista pc. Thanks again for your help :)
 
I also recommend the Radeon HD 4670. I ordered it from Tiger Direct Canada a few days ago, gonna arrive soon. :)
