Though I think The Spirit is destined for cult status, it is a bad movie. A really bad movie. Other than the cinematography, there is not one redeeming quality to the film.
Story: Convoluted as hell. Really loses it when Samuel L Jackson comes out dressed as a
(Spoiler) and melts a
(spoiler).
Dialog: Frank Miller really needs to stop writing things. Almost every line of dialog is laughably bad. Example: After The Octopus bashes The Spirit over the head with a toilet he starts to laugh...after 45 seconds of laughing he says "COME ON! Toilets are always funny!"
Acting: Not that bad. The cast did the best with what they were given.
Cinematography: Very Pretty.
Conclusion: Despite of what I have said above...I have to recommend it. Now I only recommend it to people who will sit through a bad movie and laugh at it (MST3K style).
