The thing is, never insert your login or password into anywhere unless you know its a proper site. Check the URL make sure its not like .nl or .net - unless thats the actual site.

Yeah FLYING DUTCHMAN just so you know I got a PM through steam from you with a link to that fake steam website. It was just the link and no message. You might want to change your password and scan your PC for viruses.

I tryed to warn every ego member and I sent the link whit this page to all the ego mebers on my friendslist, but not everyone is online, please help me to warn the others, endgame steal steamaccounts for a long time,my pc is save, comes today,I must reinstall everything first :)

.tk links are also notorious for that, a series of this got to my brother, with some .tk link. I was able to get it back for him though, you just need to provide some information, IE Credit Card number that the games were bought on, etc

send the link to steam and to the fbi phishing websites. if they catch the guy it autmatically like 10yrs in prison for larceny across state lines. which also makes it a federal offence, thats another 10- 15 years. then there are the fraud charges the guys will get. and a few others but the more evidence that you can give the longer he'll be somebodys love toy in prison

.eu is another one.

ok so heres the full story from my knowledge, im friends with endgame as well. People hacked his account and started sending links to his friends, a video on a fake steam site where when you log in with your steam account it takes you nowhere. They copied your steam info that way and hacked your account. It seems like they have been using endgames account as their main one. I believe the sites they were using have all been shut down now. However, they have been posting up new ones. Since im friends with endgame, a couple nights ago i got the same message from him saying to check out this video. The idiot i am, didnt pay attention to the url, and checked it out. I signed in using my steam account and nothing happened, didnt see any video, didnt think anything of it. Anyways, I decided to play some dods afterwards. As I was playing, a message popped up saying my steam account had been signed in on another computer so it logged me out. Didnt think anything of it, signed in again and started playing. Happened again, now I was getting suspicious. I logged on, off, on, off...because this hacker kept logging on my account as I was doing the same thing. I changed my password as soon I could by sending a new pw to my email. Luckily, I got the information before they could change my email address. Fortunatly, the hackers names, addresses and phone numbers have been leaked which is a good thing if someone with a hacked account with important information in them (ie credit card #'s). Apparently, they have 47 stolen accounts so far and mine was almost one of them. I thought id post an interesting convo between a friend of mine and endgame where my friend told him we had his personal information. Just a reminder, since some of endgames friends accounts have been hacked, ppl other than endgame might send you the same link. Just a heads up. Oh and if your endgames friend on steam, I recommend you take him off your list. I put a fake address, name and number instead of his real information.

Never use your Steam Login to connect to anything other than Steam itself. Another website out there that is causing problems is w w w dot newsteamcommunity dot tk. If you get a message from someone trying to send you this, claiming it will give you free games, simply take a screenshot of the conversation beside the persons community profile and report them to Steam Support on the REAL steam community site, posting the picture as evidence.

that buddy sent same link to me, using razzle's account. i sent message back and it didn't answer and i know normally razzle would answer so i didn't trust it.

SAME THING happened to joker and some other guys awhile ago and it was same case.
The "fake" steam website and typing your sn and psword so be careful

This is a classic social engineering / phishing attempt. NEVER give your ID / pass to anyone in steam (or anywhere for that matter).

Taken from Wikipedia:

In the field of computer security, phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Communications purporting to be from popular social web sites (YouTube, Facebook, MySpace), auction sites (eBay), online banks (Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase), online payment processors (PayPal), or IT Administrators (Yahoo, ISPs, corporate) are commonly used to lure the unsuspecting. Phishing is typically carried out by e-mail or instant messaging,[1] and it often directs users to enter details at a fake website whose look and feel are almost identical to the legitimate one. Even when using server authentication it requires skill to detect that the website is fake. Phishing is an example of social engineering techniques used to fool users [2], and exploits the poor usability of current web security technologies [3]. Attempts to deal with the growing number of reported phishing incidents include legislation, user training, public awareness, and technical security measures.
