Ego servers are lagging!

Today in blackmesa at 10:38 pst the whole server (the ones who types out "yes") in respose to one ego's question of weather anyone else was getting lag. The type of lag is packets being lost (i'm guessing) and causes all players to teleport, but your ping stays the same. Please check this out! Post here if you have these sort of troubles in EGO servers.

Well I know roadrunner on the east coast was having some sort of problem during the day on Sunday, kept me from playing TF2.

I noticed this also.

Basically, I can run the game at 100fps at all High Settings. My ping is like normal, around 70. Yet it is not like a ping lag, it is more graphical type lag. Choppy Game play basically. It's like I'm playing with on board graphics, yet I have 100fps. This is only on Blackmesa.

2fort has a server freeze a couple times an hour.. its like 1-3 seconds long but annoying as all hell

Start with your rates first.

I haven't noticed any lag while playing on TF2 servers. :/

I've played on Dustbowl, Black Mesa, and the PL servers. I've never noticed ping spikes or server lag.

Earlier today I lagged quite badly although my ping remained the same. Then after the initial spike, I continued to lag throughout the rest of the game.

I thought "perhaps if I leave then return" but that was not the case.

This was on TF2 instant respawn.

This isn't really helping solve the problem, but I've noticed it too. Everything would freeze up for about 1/3rd of a second and return to normal but net_graph shows my ping staying at a 49. I don't know what all of those numbers mean in the net graph though, but if you tell me which one I should keep an eye on and what threshold I should notice it being the problem I'll tell you if/when it happens.

I played Mesa last night and today at lunch with no problems.

Did you try a trace route?

From a Command Prompt type: tracert <ip address of server>

Let us know your results. Some of you may be hitting a bad hop (router / switch) along the way.

Wow and I thought it was just me, I even updated my video and sound drivers thinking that would help but nothing worked.

My rates are fine. I have never changed them, and this problem has just started to come up over the past 2 days.

I very rarely if ever have any lag problems on our servers. The last time that I can remember was ...hmm, oh, a couple months ago at least.

I think it doesn't happen all the time, but to everyone on the server at some times. I can play for 2 hours with no problem then lag starts and the whole server starts complaining.

I lag often, but it always goes away after a few minutes. That's because I have a boatload of skins for my characters. But I ain't getting rid of them. =P
