tf2 dedicated server issues

I wanted to set up a dedicated server for tf2 to play on, so i set it up and all, forwared my port, but now whenever i try to join ANY server on tf2 ( havent tried other games) it comes up with the following message: couldent alocate server ip adress. This then crashes my game and i have to restart it. Please someone help me here, i wna play tf2 again >.<

There must be a problem, perhaps the server you set up is till active.

Try to set up another server or close it. Not sure about dedicated servers much, might want to hit up Garden in IRC.

so wait, i have to close the server to be able to play?!? The whole point of the server was so i could play on it. Ill close it and see what hapens, but there must be a way to fix this problem somehow, so that i can play on my server. Thank you anyway.

ok when i close the server it works, now i need to find a solution to a different problem, how do i get it to work when server is open?
