Hey guys, when it comes 2 my mp3 player, it has to be hooked up via usb cable (like most mp3 players today). Only problem is my mp3 player wont recognize that its connected to my desktop, but itll recognize that its connected to my old laptop, which is weird. Both my laptop & desktop will give my mp3 juice, but cant do anything with the media on my mp3 player on my desktop. Im thinking that its a usb issue, but went to my motherboard site & they dont have any kinda driver on usb. What do you guys think? Also I have other items that use the usb slots as well (keyboard, mouse, etc).

did you have to install any programs for the mp3 player on your older computer and forget to install them on your new computer?

To expand on this you might need a USB powered hub. If you have one of those try it out. It could be a bad port or a "juice" thing as you put it
ya 2 be honest w/ ya, i have been thinkin bout gettin a usb hub l8ly, since i have so many usb devices now.

keyboard
mouse
webcam (hardly ever use it)
mp3 player
psp
camera
smart card reader
all items in bold use same usb cable

What kind of PC is it?
You could simply buy a USB expansion card that fits into one of your PCI slots. I believe most add 4 more USB ports to the back of your computer.

its a custom built machine w/ a gigabyte motherboard.
ok well heres an update; i checked all the available ports on the backside that werent filled (which was 3), put the usb cable that connected 2 my mp3 player into each of the 3 ports & all of em r givin my player power, but no data connectivity.
