Well, there are already people who have said they like the idea.

you must be including the tf2 people in this observation

I understand y we dont need houses anymore, but why get rid of them?

also, i hope all the fl people still hang around in vent, we will find some other channel to populate.

....and this all happened in the two weeks i have been overseas. what a quick, sudden change...

I have gone through so many changes already in this clan this doesn't phase me too much. I'm sure that the council knows what they are doing. As much as I liked the houses but once the private house forums were taken away I didn't care too much about the houses all together. So I like this idea of just getting rid of everything. The only problem is it will be harder to get noticed and promoted. At least thats my opinion.

All of the above posted positively about the change, and ALL are DoD players. I think that pretty much proves the point. That's not even including the people who posted that while it has them upset, they're looking forward to the new change...


As far as why get rid of the houses even though we don't need them... That's some what redundant. They were not needed, so why NOT get rid of them? People who didn't join a house were being held back because there were no House Leaders looking out just for them when it came to promotions. I mean, I've pretty much stated all of that already, as have others. Then think about the in-fighting, the break off clans, the "you're wearing the wrong house tag on MY server, so you can't admin here" situations we've had to deal with... The list is endless for why Houses have lived out their neccessity here.


Sorry it seemed like such a sudden change, Blue. In actuality, this change has been coming slowly but surely. Originally, House Forums were shut down, so that House members would start posting in the general forums. Instead of following that subtle direction, houses' recruiting forums were then being cluttered with "house chatter" instead of just the stickies and application threads. It was evident then, that the houses had become more of a claustrophobic hinderance, and a liability. While I feel bad that this is what you came back to, when you had gone over seas, I can't lie to you and say that I'm sorry for the change. I personally embrace it, and hope to see less arguing in the servers and on the forums due to house animosity.

I'll get used to it, but to be honest I don't like it. I like being part of EGO, but the houses were something really cool that made us different from the other clans or memberships. It was cool being part of a smaller unit that called a certain map home. Anyway its done and I'll get used to it.

I think it won't effect the clan too much if it does do anything. Yea other fellow clan members might not like it. If they want to leave due to the houses being taken away then it seems that they don't really care about the clan that much. The houses are not what make eGO. Our great members make eGO.

That's pretty much all I wanted to say. Either way, eGO rocks!

I'm not complaining about the Houses being closed, but they were part of the reason I joined eGO. This makes it a little disappointing to have them removed just a couple of months after I join. I'll live, however. As others have said, its the clan and the people that make up its members that are important, and not any sub-group of them.

I always thought the houses made dod kinda separated and people didn't want to communicate with each other. however, I feel that change is a part of what is necessary to keep a great community continuing. This applies to any type of organization not just gaming communities. You must be willing to accept change.

Im glad this happened, houses, initially, a good idea, ended up becoming more of a problem then good, atleast IMO. With the whole jones and Foreign Legion thing, I can see why this happened.
