I know someone put a post about this on the homepage awhile ago, but I'm going to repeat it. There is a hacker who uses an eGO friendly name out there, asks for your account for something, and takes it. Please watch out for this. My cousin, lordvader77, just told me (via text message) he was hacked by someone called, Guardian of Hell. I believe this because I recieved a chat request from him that i declined. So please remember to be careful and watch out.

Hey, this is Lordvader77. If you read the above, you'll know that I was hacked. As stated, a guy named Guardian of Hell sent me a message that redirected me to a website that looks exactly like a normal Steam website. DO NOT put your information in there. If you do put your info in this, the hacker will access your account from his PC and lock you out. He will most likely change your password so that you can not get back in. Through your account he can also gain access to your email, so you will want to make sure that your email is secure and that your password is different then your Steam password. My advice is to close Steam and restart. When I restarted, I was prompted that I could try and retrieve my info. A message will be sent to your email that has a link to a Steam help page. DO what it says and file a report, detailing what happened and who you believe did this to you. The Valve employees will get back to you ASAP. You will need a CD key, so that you can prove that you were, as they say, "hijacked".

The moral to this is NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER give away your Steam information, that being your username and password, especially to people you do not know. I did not do this and now I am locked out until Valve lets me back in. Take care and be safe

if i ever get a message from those people, i will mess with them, until they get tired and leave.

I hope they don't get smarter and send you keyloggers, eugh.

And sorry about getting hacked lordvader77. I've felt the pain of it before. (A LOONG time ago)

Yes I recieved a message from the fake lordvader, with a link to a bad site. Please ignore any messages from him.

I like messing with these kind of people. Fun, fun, fun. heh.

Sorry bout you getting Jacked, though.

This is pretty important, so I'm bumping it back up. So far at lest 3 people have just fallen prey to this. for them, they should visit this site to sort it out;

Just remember that even though you may trust them, would your friends send you messages like that with dodgy looking links? Think for a minute, then come up with a witty counter-response.

Look what I just got from Dark Fenix:

Can you say BLOOOOOCKED??

Ya, if anyone sends you a message with the promise of "free Steam games" or something related to that, DON'T DO IT. Currently, the site that took my account has been locked due to "Internet Hacking/Phishing" and is blocked for me (i'm using Firefox, don't know about Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.). Currently I'm in the process of retrieving my account via Steam Support. I hope to get it back in he next few days.

This is the exact same message I got, but it was from Guardian of Hell instead. So that tell's me that the hacker is using other people's account to get at their friends and so on. Hopefully i didnt lead to DarkFenix's demise, because he's one of my friends, but the fact is that the hacker probly used my account to send this hackmessage to my friends, and that's why DarkFenix is hacked. :(

Has anyone reported this guy/his site to US-Cert yet? It's one thing to teach everyone how to get past him, but for all the damned trouble he's caused us the past few weeks I'd say he needs some federal prison time.

People still fall for this they need to go to a Computer class i have only fallen once to a pshing site and that was when i was like 10 years old

I believe so because when I tried to return back to it to get a link so that I could report it (and NOT but my info in again), it came back with like a blocked message or something, there mite have been a US logo, but not sure, I think that someone had reported it already, so that's good 2 no.
