I certainly hope this whole spiel ends in a more unified and glorious community.I can understand how you feel. With the promotion lists coming from just House Leaders, the poor guys who were Free Agents were constantly over looked. There was no one to look out for them, even when they were playing on a specific server every time they logged on. I just combed through a few servers this last month, and found TWO e's who had been here for nearly a year. But because they were not part of a house, they had no house leader to champion them and speak up for them. Was that fair? No, it wasn't. Both are now sporting eG's.
Now that Advisors are no longer bound to look out for just one group of people wearing the "correct" tags, I think there will be even more opportunity for e's and eG's to be promoted. There will be Advisors roaming the different servers, taking EVERYONE into account. No longer will an e be held back because they were tagless in a server, and the House Leaders on that server failed to notice them. Now, the ones without tags will be noticed quicker, and promoted with more regularity.
I've noticed it's mostly the newer members to the clan, who believe that Houses were the only way for us to survive. I've only been in this clan for a year and a half. I was here before the beginning of houses. I saw a huge community that was thriving before being seperated. And with the houses, I saw us get bigger... and then start to tear ourselves apart to be seperatist structures. Some houses left to form their own clans, because they failed to see how eGO came first. At least two of those break off clans are now withering and dying, and their members are reapplying to join eGO. Now we're going back to our roots, and focusing more on our clan as a whole. How can anyone deny that focusing on what makes us eGO is a bad thing, when it's for the betterment of the clan? The ones I see who are really complaining about the closing of the houses are the mostly the ones who didn't get to see how glorious eGO was before the houses... And it was. Now, it's time to shrug off the negativity, and embrace a future of a clan wide unity. eGO is still glorious in it's ability to adapt to changes, new games, and growth. I stand behind my Council, my other Division Leaders, and our Advisors. But more importantly, I stand behind each and every one of you. That's what we're all supposed to do. It's called family.
