TF2 and CSS

They always:

CSS:
Says "preparing to launch css...." then closes and nothing happens

TF2: Opens, and then closes after first two openings.

Things I tried:
updated/reinstalled direct x and latest drivers
restarted steam
restarted computer
renamed/deleted clientregistry.blob

Any help? Thanks.

XP and reinstalling won't do much since the odds of it being both games with different issues.

Reinstall the games, reinstall steam.. If none of that helps, there isn't much we can do. You'd be better off contacting Valve directly and filing a support ticket.

Just tried both. I was hoping someone else had this problem, with a solution....
