Day of Defeat: Source or Red Orchestra?

I'm deciding on getting one of the games mentioned in the title. What are your opinions, and which one should I get?

I prefer dod:s over red orchestra, just my opinion

I only played Red Orchestra for a little bit, but it seemed pretty cool. However, we don't have RO servers, so I think the choice should be obvious.

Red Orchestra, all of the WW2 games have mostly kept around the Americans and British, except cod 5... I feel like this game is great because it relys on team mates to work together, also its just focuses on the Russians, and no one else. I think RO is a great game, but you cannot find a decent server without easy bots

You're likely to get a rather biased set of results here, seeing as so many people here play Dod. As for me i've never played Red Orchestra and I don't like Dod that much.

I'd say DOD:S as there are eGO servers on it and also,the controls are easy to master if you play TF2 or CS:S as they are just the same.

It depends, if you like super-realisim then Red Orchestra is a definite yes, along with a great game that includes tanks and all types of weapons such as artillery you can download a few mods, Mare Nostrum which puts brits, italians, aussies, and the desert rats in the game fighting over north africa, and the Carpathian Crosses which puts in Romanians while fighting in the normal theatre.

On the other hand Dod:S is a more cartoony less realistic take on world war two, it includes only infantry but is a much more forgiving game. If I had to make comparisons it would be like Dod:S is CS:S whereas Red Orchestra is Insurgency.

Day of Defeat: Source definiatly, I played both games and didn't like Red Orchestra a bit.

DoD also has a larger community and offcourse several eGO servers, what more do you want? ^^

DoD:S, although I don't play it much, is much more fun. Get that instead.

I just purchased Day of Defeat: Source on Steam. I'll be playing DoD:S a bit more now. However, I still am interested in Red Orchestra..Oh, I'll also trade a Guest pass of DoD:S for Red Orchestra!

They're both pretty different. RO goes for a more realistic style of game play. While DOD is a bit more on the arcade side.

I prefer DOD, because arcade = fun.

I think the poll speaks for itself, but if you're looking for a fun run and gun WW2 FPS, DoD:Source is the better choice imo.

DoD:s just because it's my favorite game ever. But Red Orchestra is really growing on me lately. DoD is a game, Red Orchestra is a simulator.
