Destop Fails

Well, i started up my pc today and when i got to the windows XP welcome Screen this is what happens

It says it loading my stuff then it go's to windows but all you see is the background and when you wait its takes forever the start bar to come up and icons!

And i can't do anything on no internet or anything And please note i'm on my moms laptop

Any thing that can help me?

CPU Amd 3200+

Mobo Abit A-V8

PSU 500 watt

OS Windows Xp 32 bit

Ram 2GB

Video card Geforce FX 5950

Also i did download that RivaTuner thing and i made my fan speed at 80% so that could be prob too so.

My guess would be any recently installed software. Consider removing Rivatuner?

Try hitting CTRL+ALT+DEL and bringing up task manager.
Click the CPU column to see if anything is hogging the CPU. If there is, click on it, then click "End task."
Also, try restarting explorer.exe. Find it, end it, then File > New Task > explorer.exe [enter].

Yeah it seems fine now i removed it and it's working again

Thanks guys i was messing with the Rivatuner and that's what messed it up it seems
But uninstalled it so
