MS word (2007) a small question...

hey fellow eGO's! how are you?

something's been buging me for a looooong time. ive been typing in MS Word since i can remember (it was 2007, 2003, 97 whatever else)... and i have to use NUMBERING in just about every document. well word has that covered quite well. what i would like to do (and obviously i do this manually) is SKIP numbering - say only odd numbers, e.g. #1, #3, #5, etc., right? but automated. can that be done? im driving word '07 if that makes a difference.

p.s. how can i update my personal info - add my xfire nic to it? i havent seen that option in user CP. am i blind?

this is a link explaining outline numbering - still the same level gets numbered like usual - in a row - 1, 2, 3, etc. the bottom of this page http://www.uwec.edu/help/Word07/lst-cust.htm shows quite clearly what i have to deal with - only manual counters! which in a pc world like today is a little sad dont u think?

What you are requesting is possible. You can use this to find the answer:

It's easier to just manually list the document numbers. It's not just a simple option selection. It often requires more effort than it's worth.

could u plz walk me through step-by-step? i dont work in field codes very often... (btw - in word 2007 do feild codes work ENTIRELY as in previous versions?) pardon my stupidity...

why do i get "bookmark not defined!" - what is the syntax?

i got the sequance to work (i typed \n after Num) -BUT the *2-1 doesnt recognize. the sequance just goes 1,2,3, etc. when i type * 2 - 1 with space i get bookmark not defined. without spaces as it should be it isnt working
