happens to me alot as well, sometimes I have, as a sniper, shot some guy in the head, no crit. Shot another guy in teh crotch and got a headshot =/ I think Valve may have screwed up crits...

That's lag. Trust me, it happens to me all the time. It's just lag.
Kascade got it right, the fake crits are a graphical bug.

lag, shmag shooting a guy in the crotch and critting is awsome, dont rain on my parade
