RAM problem

I have 1.5Gbs of RAM, a 1Gb and a 512Mb.

(Everest Ultimate Edition readings)

1Gb = DDR2-533 SDRAM
@ 266 MHz 5-4-4-12 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 16-28-2-4-2-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR-RTP)
@ 266 MHz 4-4-4-12 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 16-28-2-4-2-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR-RTP)
@ 200 MHz 3-3-3-9 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 12-21-2-3-2-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR-RTP)

512Mb = DDR2-667 SDRAM
@ 333 MHz 5-5-5-15 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 20-35-3-5-3-3 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR-RTP)
@ 266 MHz 4-4-4-12 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 16-28-2-4-2-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR-RTP)
@ 200 MHz 3-3-3-9 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 12-21-2-3-2-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR-RTP)

Max mobo memory speed = 533

So here's my problem...

My 1Gb stick is running at 266Mhz while the 512Mb is running at 333Mhz.
How do I get both sticks to run at 533Mhz?

DDR... DOUBLE data rate...

266.66666666 x 2 = 533

333.33333333 x 2 = 667

So you would want to run them at 266mhz

As far as my understanding of memory goes, they should both be running at the same speed, namely, the lower speed.

266 is what you want as someone pointed out, since its DDR RAM

Edit: forgot to mention that it looks like the numbers you posted are just what each stick is capable of and not what it is actually running at. Your numbers include both the speed and the timings of the ram.

little more info but the computer or mother board would also be helpful
so we can help explain how to set ure memory speed
and why you think there running different speeds??

You definitely need to ditch the 512 stick, you can pick up a gig stick ultra cheap on newegg.

I understand this isn't a good answer to your question, but frankly what you have to do is slow the faster ram down to the slower ram in the bios, it's not a good option.

Ah, you're totally right. How could I miss that... I'm still learning more about RAM and what not. Thanks for that, now I completely understand (feeling like a total newb).

Thanks everyone for the help, I'm hopefully getting a new mobo in the near future.

This one to be exact. 3 SATA is enough for me.

Along with this RAM

533Mhz is total garbage. :mad:

HAHAHa your paying 15 dollars more cause it has fatality name on it..
its not special ram its the same as there 30 dollar stuff.. and no 533 was good 3 years ago.

533 may be good for office work and stuff, but not for playing games like TF2 and L4D. My computer has a hard time getting at least 20 fps in the crowded areas.

20 fps,thats a graphics card issue.....
and like I said was 3 years ago.
