You knew it was coming, and now we can reveal the dates of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn Of War II multiplayer beta.

The beta will be hosted via Steam and will launch exclusively to Warhammer 40,000: Dawn Of War - Soulstorm owners on January 21. If you?re not a Soulstorm owner, you?ll be able to get in on the action on January 28 when the beta is opened to all worldwide.

All four races (yes, including Tyranids!) will be available to try out in the beta, along with five multiplayer maps and Games For Windows LIVE TrueSkill Matchmaking. Keep your eye on THQ-Games for more information on the Beta.

Sign up to the Game Alert to stay up to date with the latest on Dawn Of War II.

You need a Steam account, and a copy of Soulstorm (doesn?t matter where you bought it, steam purchased or otherwise you?ll need the CD Key. Sharing of keys is forbidden) for early access. Open access later. 4 races including the ?nids. 5 maps.

The real question becomes "Is it worth buying Soulstorm to have early access to this beta?"

Suppose I should get some reviews of Soulstorm and find out.

it isnt spitfire, dow2 should completly replace the original dawn of war and its expansions, dont waste your money on something so soon to be outdated... Now I really need a new computer :(

I have all of the DOW's too..This is awesome news!...Dow is the best RTS out there IMO. I wish there was an EGO division for it :P..But this is a FPS clan...Still it would be nice :)

I'm a long time Starcraft,WC3 Player, Will DoW2 Satisfy my hunger for awesomeness?

If its better then Starcraft, then this must be one hell of a game:D
These two games are waaay different. DoWII for example has no base building and a completely different resource system. Starcraft takes more skill to get good at (more micro and that kind of stuff) since it's a very competetive game. DoWII on the other hand is more easily to play since it's more of a casual game.
I'd say, get into the beta on the 28th and look if you like this game or not. It's better than any demo! :D

I thought only the campagin mode, didnt have base building.
The only building there is in multiplayer is the HQ where you tech up and recruit units. That's about it. Unless you choose the Techmarine or the Ork Mekboy as your commander you will not be able to build anything but power generators. The Techmarine and Mek can build turrets, banners and these kind of things.

hm wounder how its going to go then, but saddly I never played Dawn of war with anyone other then my self anyways >.>

I for one won't be buying this simply because Games for Windows Live is a disease, it's like an infection. I refuse to have any game that has that garbage bundled into it, no thank you.

Well I gave it a try..Its different that the other DOWs...I am going to reserve judgement until I play the full game.

A bit of language in the beginning, but I think it's pretty funny other than that. :)
