Disabling newbie tips?

For the life of me I can never remember OR find this when I reinstall TF2. Is there a way to disable the annoying tips that appear in the middle of your screen on map restart? They hang around for way too long and are a definite hindrance at the start of a round.

Edit: The only thing I can think of is a tf_hud_notification_duration 0 line in my cfg. I'm not sure that will work.

"As a demo put remote pipes where they are hard to spot"

"as a spy observe where enemy players are and blabla"

"As a soldier you can jump to great heights by shooting at the ground while jumping"

all those things, but I never thought it was possible to remove them.

They appeared for me after a while too..I have no idea on how to remove them. =/ Sometimes they still do. But they disappear eventually.

I do not think he is referring to those class tips that appear while a map is loading, but rather to those boxes with tips specific to the gametype you are currently playing, such as "Capture the enemy intelligence briefcase to win" or whatever it says, which block the center of your view.

I think you just have to leave them till they go.

I don?t know if you've solved your problem but:

Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\XXXXXXXXX\team fortress 2\tf\media(or wherever your game is installed)
open "viewed.res" with notepad
change the view number to "50" or higher on each map.

Basically, it?s the times you?ve played on each map and there?s a threshold. By setting them to 50, they shouldn?t appear anymore.

I would just take a note card and stick it right there. Not seeing makes it not there.
