Graphics Card
MSI Nvidia 9800GT OC

Hard Drive
500gb

Sound Card

OS
Windows Ultimate x86

Monitor
15inch

Hmmmmm... it should be good enough to get at least 60fps on most servers @ 1920x1200 with all settings maxed and 4xaa/16xaf.

may i know your system specs?

E6600 @ 3.2 Ghz
EVGA 680i SLI
EVGA 9800 GTX+
2 GB Corsair DDR2
500 GB Western Digital HDD
OCZ GameXStream 700-watt PSU
Windows XP MCE 2k5

The only server currently that I don't get 60fps constantly on is BlackMesa. It occasionally drops into the 50's, and sometimes 40's depending on the action. Other than that, it's 60+ fps pretty much all the time.

If you're getting really bad FPS but have a really 1337 rig, try to run in fullscreen mode instead of windowed. I did this and jumped from 40 fps to 100. :D

It really depends on the map. Cashworks is particularly bad at producing really low frame rates due to the fact that it hasn't been optimized yet and is huge. That's a great rig.

With a 15" monitor, you are running at a fairly low resolution, and should have a much faster frame rate. I would do a clean install of your video drivers just to be sure.

Second this one.

edit: also try turning your vsync off :)

Yeeah, try shutting your V-Sync off, which is Vertical Sync btw..
It helps a little bit, but seriously, pulling for over 40FPS really isnt guna make a HUGE diff..

To turn V-Sync off..

1. Control Panel
2. NVIDIA Control Panel
3. Under 3D Settings, Click Manage 3D Settings
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the "Global Settings" Box
5. Click Vertical Sync, and change it from Use 3D Application Setting to Force Off.
6. Click Apply.

You should get alot better, I get like 70fps with 2x 8600GT OC in SLi (That's like a 8800GT(x))

im running a 9800 gtx+ and i get well over 150 fps , you should be waaaaaaay faster than you are , id say you have something running in background maybe virii or trojan , clean install man

also a simple way to find out if its your os , google amd fusion , and install it , when you run it it will turn off all the windows services not needed, its set for gaming , see if your fps goes up , and fyi , if its 4-0 fps stable all the time , youd be fine , you can only see 32fps or lower . unless your not human that is :)
