Snow Announcement - 2nd February

Due to the heavy snowfall and bad weather conditions on the roads, the Faculty of Business and Law and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences have both cancelled all lectures today. Other University services such as on-site catering are disrupted.

Although the campuses are all open, students and staff may have difficulty in travelling to the University. Lectures in all faculties are likely to be disrupted, if not cancelled, depending on whether staff and students have been able to get to the University. Additionally, on-site catering is currently only available at Penrhyn Road, in the Picton Room.

You are therefore advised only to travel to the University if you can travel safely and it is really necessary. Otherwise, you should remain at home.

We will update this announcement during the day, when we have a better indication of what the weather forecast is for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Here in Texas if any frozen precipitation of any kind and any amount is sighted in the state everything shuts down.

I'm not in high school anymore but the one where i graduated from gets the 2nd of february off every year in honor of groundhog day!

ps-your lucky! i wish my college would cancel classes even once from weather.

Same here, im in the northwest and its been the best snow ever! I missed my snow, it was back in my childhood since the last time ive had a good snowball fight. When i got home from school i asked my uncle how bad it was in london

Yesterday and Today have been 60+ degrees...Weird weather for Delaware (U.S). They are calling for snow tomorrow though which to me just raises further questions

Lucky You. I live in West Lancashire (NW England if you didn't know) in a town about 30 miles from Liverpool. We officially have the worst snowfall rate in the country. Last time it snowed around here was Xmas 2005. Only when the rest of the country is being pelted by snowstorms do we get 2mm of snow.
