I got the usb keyboard and that solved the problem, But i just found it i can't get into the bios or even go in safe mode anymore, How is this going to help?

and plus I'm getting the new stuff soon so i need to know,

A: They will have a pc you can't get into the bios if the PS/2 ports are burnt,

B:They will just have to use the USB keyboard instead of a PS/2 port keyboard, and hope nothing bad happens.

Thanks for the info, And please i need to help with this,

my mobo is Abit AV8 and i think Static Shock burn't the PS/2 port out i had it on a carpet and i had it unplugged from the Thunderstorm, after the fact the power went out.

Not yet and how can i reset it?

some person told me this

If the lights aren't coming on, the device isn't getting power.

Tried it in another PC/laptop?

Yes.

Your PS/2 port may be fried..hopefully it's just the keyboard

Dang thanks anyways.

On the motherboard there is a small watch battery. Remove this battery along with the power cable from the power supply
. Hold down the power button to fully discharge the system
. Wait 2-3 minutes then reinstall the battery and plug in your system. Your reset is now complete

This is what i could find will this work and will it hurt my computer?

no.. thats 1 way of resetting it.another is setting a jumper..look at your mobo manual.
battery way is that unplug first, hit power to drain all stored power pull the batt.

Well i'm left without a pc now, It won't work and the PS/2 port is broken for sure! all i have is a usb mouse and it and usb keyboard..

Resetting the bios didn't work it just made things worse now that my pc won't pick up a PS/2, now it doesn't even boot

I'm going to have my dad look at it.

All it saids to do is press F1 but that's hard to do if your PS/2 is burnt out!

is there anyway i can get it to get pass that?

Well i got it back up some how i know for a fact that the ps/2 is burnt out and I'm not messing with this anymore, Thankyou if i can't get into the bios or safe mode that's okay too.
