So I play as the medic a lot and find myself in situations where the person I'm healing (whether it be a heavy, or soldier, etc.) starts getting attacked by a pyro and he and I catch on fire. Here's where i find myself at a series of cross roads and i was wondering what you guys would do in the situation.

I usually stick it out and try and help out my teammate which normally ends with me burning to death...

I keep the medic beam on them as long as I can. When it gets to the point where I'm actually in danger of dying, though, I make a break for the medkits, shouting medic every two seconds.

What I like to do is try to run for another medic, running as far as way as possible while still trying to heal my teammate. I'll try to save myself if my charge % is high, but if not, I'll try to keep healing and hopefully I won't burn to death. If I have an uber, I'll deploy it before I die, even if it means wasting it.

I'm still quite new to TF2, so I don't have any special tatics or strategies to use when I'm a medic.

I'd say a lot of it depends on the situation. If there is a medpack I know is close, I'll make a break for it. I can get it and get back to healing the person in a few seconds. If not, I'll just do my best to keep the other person alive and pray that the fire burns out before I die.

Of course, I always love when I'm healing someone who is aware of my health and will pull back to let me regenerate some. Even better are the ones who will protect you and lead you to a health pack when you need it.

The best choice would be to go find the closest healing source. If you are still at 80 health, keep healing.

Medic > Other teammates. Don't forget, if you aren't alive in the first place then you can't heal anyways.

My view is that you're worth more to your team when you're alive, if it takes a life then so be it, you'll be able to save 10 more if you survive.

Depends on how much ubercharge I have. If I'm more than 50% I make a break for it, otherwise I stick it out and hope the heavy mows him down and then both of us get a chance to heal. But having played on blackmesa a lot, the only thing better than a medic is a heavy with a medic. I always look for my sandvich carrying friends and go out of my way to keep them alive. Their ability to control the spawn is just too awesome to abandon.

The ultimate goal of a medic is to stay alive for two reasons.
1) You cannot heal anyone dead
2) Your ubercharge meter will be greater than if you respawn.

I try to keep the person i'm healing alive, but there are more fish in the sea, if one dies, oh well, he'll come back, if i die, so does my 10 sec immortality...

personally once i hit under 70 health and burning i let them burn and try to save myself because honestly your uber can cause more destruction than saving them *p unless they are a fellow medic. but i mostly play 2fort soo i stay as long as possible and go water

Depends on how much damage I have, if I have around 120 left and burning I would stick with him untill it is safe for me to retreat and get some health, if it is even lower, get the blutsauger and start getting your health up and go to the medpack,
